Feeling a bit grim. Dental work and ME do not play well together. However I did wear my #talalmostlongtrousers that I removed the cuff elastic from last week - in my opinion they look better turned up to show the spotted facings - and they are good secret pyjamas, especially when paired with my #avidseamstressdropsleevetop (previously made larger with the addition of a sleeve/side gusset). The Avid Seamstress Drop Sleeve Top made from the most slippery, difficult, but oh so lovely fabric that I bought in Budapest last year! I didn’t quite have enough for the full sleeves, but think it looks equally wonderful without! It was such an easy make with excellent instructions... Even my dog gave his seal of approval! I posted before about messing up the facing and deciding to use bias binding instead, which has now made this wearable again. I even used the rest of the scraps to make more bias binding for something else - future me will be very grateful I'm sure! Managed to squeeze size 2 of an Avid Seamstress Drop Sleeve Top (free pattern!) out of 1.3m of 110cm wide fabric, rather than the 2.1m suggested. This is a cotton lawn (possibly polycotton?) which will be a muslin so that I can try out the sizing and maybe even a swayback adjustment if I'm feeling brave. I picked up 1m of the most beautiful Art Gallery viscose from @sewyourownwardrobe a couple of weeks ago and I'm hoping I can somehow make this pattern work! What a quick sew and a great little scrap buster! My first time sewing the #avidseamstressdropsleevetop, I omitted the sleeves as I only had 50cm remnant to work with from #neridahansenfabrics. I just managed to cut this out and used a different fabric for the facing. I am looking forward to sewing it again with the sleeves next time for cooler weather. @theavidseamstress @neridahansenfabrics @brookgossen

This is one of those things that you could consider a sewing "freebie" - fabric was leftover from my Adelaide dress, pattern was free, all I spent was my time! . It's another iteration of the Drop Sleeve Top pattern from @theavidseamstress. Like the first time I made this pattern, I altered the sleeve to be a ruffle. But, instead of using the sleeve piece I hacked last time I made this, I just cut two rectangles to use up all the leftover fabric I had. Slightly less voluminous, but still nicely ruffled! . The fabric is the same as I mentioned in my last post: a lemon print rayon from @abakhanbrand fabrics in Talinn. #sewfrugal22 reveal day! - hosted by @frugalisama @theyorkshiresewgirl I made the Drop Sleeve Top, which is a free pattern by @theavidseamstress I made it out of a woven viscose fabric remnant from a previous make (see 6th photo) for the front and a viscose knit fabric for the back. I made size 0, shortened the top by 6 cm (I’m a shortie!) and brought in the neckline by 1.5 cm. I also used bias binding, instead of a facing, for the neckline as I thought it’d work better for the knit fabric (see 3rd photo). To tie the whole top together, I decide to use a button covered with the woven fabric and I made the loop out of that fabric too (photo 5). In contrast, I made a sleeve cuff out of the knit fabric (4th photo) as I thought it’d be a better finish for the knit fabric and it’d bring the whole top together. Overall, although I was worried about mixing knit and woven, it was actually easier than I thought. The woven fabric stabilises the knit one making easier to sew. I used a microtex needle for this. Fabrics: Woven - viscose remnant originally bought from @fionasfabrics Knit - viscose jersey from @minervadotcom I had 1 metre of the latter and I was also able to squeeze out a top from the Bettine dress pattern by Tilly and the buttons (see last photo). #sewfrugal22 #sewingwithremnants #petitesewist #petitesewing #theavidseamstress #theavidseamstressdropsleevetop

This is one of those things that you could consider a sewing "freebie" - fabric was leftover from my Adelaide dress, pattern was free, all I spent was my time! . It's another iteration of the Drop Sleeve Top pattern from @theavidseamstress. Like the first time I made this pattern, I altered the sleeve to be a ruffle. But, instead of using the sleeve piece I hacked last time I made this, I just cut two rectangles to use up all the leftover fabric I had. Slightly less voluminous, but still nicely ruffled! . The fabric is the same as I mentioned in my last post: a lemon print rayon from @abakhanbrand fabrics in Talinn.
