Happy Easter all! Here I am prancing around in a new dress. This is the @theavidseamstress #gathereddress I have been planning this dress for about four years so the fabric is an old cotton twill from the shop. It’s a lush pattern and I”m pleased with the end result. The flat front, raglan sleeves and then gathered back detail is a great shape for me. I’ve finally decided to get in on one of the yearly sewing challenges to have something to work towards whenever I’m in need of a project to keep my hands busy. The Avid Seamstress Gathered Dress in gorgeous fabric from Tessuti...thank you the lovely Ewa for your help and suggestions. Made a few modifications to the pattern. Left out the back zipper and cut the back skirt and top as single pieces. It pulls over one’s head with no problem. Used ordinary two rows of stitches gathering method for the back skirt instead of using elastic as suggested by the pattern. Lined the dress fully.
