Mary @thedailysew created this garment with inspiration from Midge - Marvelous Mrs Maisel's dress. Playing With Fire: Dressmaking Edition. I tissue fitted this dress, and it JUST fits my hips. As in, no ease. I'm cutting into this green linen anyway. I hope that the linen ends up loosening with some wear and also that I am going to drop a few pounds, and that cutting this size doesn't end up being a huge mistake. Avid seamstress the shift dress progress pic: it fits! Hopefully getting the elastic waist, zipper, and hems done in the next few days. I'm going to do the elastic in a casing on the outside, and I'm debating keeping it simple with self fabric or going for a complimentary fabric. Playing With Fire: Dressmaking Edition. I tissue fitted this dress, and it JUST fits my hips. As in, no ease. I'm cutting into this green linen anyway. I hope that the linen ends up loosening with some wear and also that I am going to drop a few pounds, and that cutting this size doesn't end up being a huge mistake. Can we talk about this Sheath Dress! We are just absolutely amazed at the incredible craftmanship that went into the making of this dress. Mary @thedailysew created this garment with inspiration from Midge - Marvelous Mrs Maisel's dress. She added double-sided ribbon trim from the centre back, around the neck and down the centre front ALL BY HAND ⭐⭐⭐ Mary then created a belt to cover the elastic waistband.
