I’ve been trying to take some time to make more just-for-fun projects in between the work ones. It’s important to fill that creative well, yo! Anyway, this is the #pslunacrossbody bag . I thought it would be a good option to keep in my larger bag while I travel this Fall for my book tour. I need to work on my flush lining skills, and I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t give some serious side-eye to the piping-making process, but overall I’m happy with it. The pattern by @patternscout is well-written and even better, has an in-depth, accompanying sew-along tutorial. Main fabric is IKEA canvas from my stash. Ok, now back to the knitting trenches! 😉

Hot off the machine: here’s my @patternscout Luna crossbody bag! I used Vienna herringbone twill in sand for the main fabric, and I used brushed chino twill in Aztec for the piping (both from @imaginegnats). For all of the hardware, I used a kit from @patternscout (gold brass with beige zipper, which was an almost perfect match for the sand twill). I struggled a bit with attaching the piping (it was my first time), but overall I LOVE this bag and think it will be perfect for my trip. My one complaint is that I wish the strap was longer...but I think I can cut it at the midpoint and piece in another length of fabric. Just a heads up for my fellow fats! 😉 In the meantime, it looks pretty cute worn as a belt bag too. . ✔HARDWARE KITS RESTOCKED! As part of the #pslunacrossbody pattern release, I created several hardware kits to make sourcing a breeze (all you need is your fabric, interfacing, and the kit and you're all set). I have kits in antique brass, gold brass, and silver nickel with zipper color options for each finish. The Dark Teal zipper is one of my faves. . These pants. I really love them now, but it was a struggle to get here! These are the 4th pair of #winslowculottes I’ve made and I was really proud of how well they turned out - until I tried them on and realized I made the rookie mistake of using pattern pieces I cut out last year without checking my current measurements first. 🤦‍♀️ After a couple months of waiting for the weather to warm up and trying to convince myself I would wear them with Spanx (nope), I finally ripped them apart last week to do the @helens__closet hack of adding an elastic back to the waistband. I’m SO glad I did! They are the most comfortable, breezy, ultimate secret pajamas now. This fabric is glorious, it’s a navy rayon twill with tiny printed flowers from @dhfabricsandco. I really wish I had bought a little more to make a matching top for a faux jumpsuit!! These pants. I really love them now, but it was a struggle to get here! These are the 4th pair of #winslowculottes I’ve made and I was really proud of how well they turned out - until I tried them on and realized I made the rookie mistake of using pattern pieces I cut out last year without checking my current measurements first. 🤦‍♀️ After a couple months of waiting for the weather to warm up and trying to convince myself I would wear them with Spanx (nope), I finally ripped them apart last week to do the @helens__closet hack of adding an elastic back to the waistband. I’m SO glad I did! They are the most comfortable, breezy, ultimate secret pajamas now. This fabric is glorious, it’s a navy rayon twill with tiny printed flowers from @dhfabricsandco. I really wish I had bought a little more to make a matching top for a faux jumpsuit!! I’ve been trying to take some time to make more just-for-fun projects in between the work ones. It’s important to fill that creative well, yo! Anyway, this is the #pslunacrossbody bag . I thought it would be a good option to keep in my larger bag while I travel this Fall for my book tour. I need to work on my flush lining skills, and I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t give some serious side-eye to the piping-making process, but overall I’m happy with it. The pattern by @patternscout is well-written and even better, has an in-depth, accompanying sew-along tutorial. Main fabric is IKEA canvas from my stash. Ok, now back to the knitting trenches! 😉

Hot off the machine: here’s my @patternscout Luna crossbody bag! I used Vienna herringbone twill in sand for the main fabric, and I used brushed chino twill in Aztec for the piping (both from @imaginegnats). For all of the hardware, I used a kit from @patternscout (gold brass with beige zipper, which was an almost perfect match for the sand twill). I struggled a bit with attaching the piping (it was my first time), but overall I LOVE this bag and think it will be perfect for my trip. My one complaint is that I wish the strap was longer...but I think I can cut it at the midpoint and piece in another length of fabric. Just a heads up for my fellow fats! 😉 In the meantime, it looks pretty cute worn as a belt bag too. .
