The last make, actually two makes, of 2024 - two pairs of Eastwood pajama pants for my son and his girlfriend. Those were the longest seams ever with 33" and 36" inseams 😂 And the pattern matching took forever, but I am very pleased with the result as that plaid matched perfectly along all the seams. I finally finished (3 weeks ago) the second pair of the Thread Theory Eastwood Pajamas for my husband. He really has an addiction for them and he has asked if I can make some warmer ones for Winter. This pattern make is perfect for lounging and outings (depending on fabric used)! With features like deep pockets and a comfy elastic waist, they fit men of all sizes beautifully. For this pair I used a mid-weight linen. Not the most exciting of makes here but a pair of PJ bottoms for David for his birthday. I made them from double gauze (of course, it's the best PJ fabric!). I sewed them up at my first social sewing day as I thought it was a good project to do out of the house (of course I then hid them when I got home and forgot where I'd put them 😂) I've used this pattern before to make PJs for my dad and although it's a standard elasticated waistband, I like the detail of bias bound seams. I used leftover homemade binding that I'd used on my red jacket and think it matches well. Spot the difference! 🩵 Last year I made my boy a pair of linen pj pants which he literally wore to death - swipe to see them now… sadly beyond repair (it wasn’t just the gaping knee hole, but other holes all over!) 🩵 He asked me to make him the exact same pair … Sadly that linen was no longer available - I had bought a 3m piece from @zygaparis (they sell their excess linen in cuts of 3m) and I’d already used the leftovers to make myself a top (hanging on the line in the same photo as the pjs!) 🩵 So I ordered the closest thing - this light blue stripe - I made the long pjs for my boy as requested using the Eastwood Pajamas #eastwoodpajamas @threadtheorydesigns , then some pjs shorts for him as well … then some pj shorts for my husband (on the left in the 1st photo) … (both using the Eastwood pattern) 🩵 After all that I STILL had about 1m of fabric…So I made myself a pair of Foxie Boxies #foxieboxies by @bygraciesteel !! These are the cargo pants I made for my kids ❤️ A year or so ago my girl asked for some elastic waist cargo pants - I made her some in a cotton poplin, and made some for my boy at the same time - they both loved them and have worn them to death … time for version 2! It appears this has become an account about “things I sew for others” as here’s another one: PJ’s for my partner. A few years ago I bought these two Mona Lisa panels from #loiseaufabrics with the intention of making each of us shirts but when they arrived and I saw the sheer size of the Mona Lisa faces I just put them into the stash unsure about what to do with them given how large scale they were. Just before Christmas I got it in my head that these panels should become pyjamas for my partner as he is a Leonardo da Vinci fan and I finally got around to sewing them up last week. The pants are the #threadtheorypatterns #eastwoodpajamas and the top is the #greenstylecreations #gshudsonpullover turned into a tshirt. I’ve made him the Eastwood Pyjama bottoms many times over but this is the first time I’ve made them in a knit. Every woven pair I’ve made him has eventually ripped at the back butt seam so I’m hoping the stretchier knit fabric will stop that from happening. I love the look of these pjs and almost wanted to see him wear them out of the house as an outfit 😁. The panels each had one full Mona Lisa and one larger scale off centre Mona Lisa head so I really had to individually cut each piece out to really take advantage of as much of the Mona Lisa panels as I could and that meant putting her face on each butt cheek for the pants and the fronts had to be cut upside down. The fabric was spread on the table with grace, A glimmer of PJ pants that soon would take place. The flannel was ready, the pattern pieces laid, With visions of comfort, a gift to be made. The sewing machine sat with needle agleam, As moonlight danced on a winter night’s dream. The thread in its spools, a festive array, Stood ready to stitch the night hours away. With warmth in my heart and rotary cutter in hand, I cut through the fabric - a holiday brand! Navy blue and red, with bears so jolly, Pajama pants cut out; a lovely gift, by golly! The hum of the machine sang carols so sweet, As seams came together in a rhythmic heartbeat. The waistband was sturdy, the hems were just right, A gift made with love on this Christmas Eve night. I stitched on a sweary label, a touch here and there, With intentions of coziness beyond compare. The drawstring was woven with holiday cheer, For comfort in slumber, throughout the New Year. As morning approached, the pants were complete, A gift sewn with love, a moment so sweet. I folded them gently, with ribbon and bow, Ready to gift in the morning light glow. The freshly sewn gift nestled ‘neath the tree’s light, Awaiting the joy that would come with daylight. A handmade treasure, stitched with delight, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! These @threadtheorydesigns #eastwoodpajamas came together last-minute when another gift for my Dad didn’t arrive, but they are without a doubt the better gift! Lovely flannelette and red bias binding from the always lovely folks at @theclothcastle , and cheeky label (which I knew my dad would appreciate) from @kylieandthemachine . Special shout-out to my husband who kept the kids entertained while I completed this project from my teenage bedroom 🤣😅 a special bonus is that @threadtheorydesigns is located near where I grew up, so this project felt extra special 🥰

I made a few pairs of pajama pants for 2 of my people. One of my people is very tall and usually has pj’s that are mid-calf so hopefully this will be an improvement. I used the Eastwood Pajama pattern and sepia Mammoth Flannel. I’m kind of obsessed with the fabric and am hoping to eek a vest for myself out of the scraps. Another pair of #eastwoodpajamas! I think this is the 4th pair; pair #3 is threadbare. Like the last version, I made this one in Brussels washer linen in Sage from @harts_fabric. My buttonhole maker is busted so this fly is free and easy, oh well! @atelierbrunette bias tape from @stitchsewshop. I have been sewing. I decided to make all of my family pajamas for Christmas. All of the guys got #eastwoodpajamas made from flannel spoon fabric and all the girls got #closetcorecarolyn in a mixed pizza and words fabric. It was a lot of work and I’m tired, but still always enjoyable. I’m thankful for my family.

I sewed them up at my first social sewing day as I thought it was a good project to do out of the house (of course I then hid them when I got home and forgot where I'd put them 😂) I've used this pattern before to make PJs for my dad and although it's a standard elasticated waistband, I like the detail of bias bound seams. I used leftover homemade binding that I'd used on my red jacket and think it matches well. These are the cargo pants I made for my kids ❤️ A year or so ago my girl asked for some elastic waist cargo pants - I made her some in a cotton poplin, and made some for my boy at the same time - they both loved them and have worn them to death … time for version 2! I found this fabulous cotton rip-stop fabric at @drapersfabrics in Brunswick St - perfect for cargo pants! 💙 navy blue for my boy - I used the @threadtheorydesigns #eastwoodpajamas pattern with added cargo patch pockets from the Jutland pants 🤎 khaki green for my girl - I used the @tessutifabrics #robbiepants lengthened, with patch packets from the Lander Pants and cargo pockets from the Jutland Pants

The last make, actually two makes, of 2024 - two pairs of Eastwood pajama pants for my son and his girlfriend. Those were the longest seams ever with 33" and 36" inseams 😂 And the pattern matching took forever, but I am very pleased with the result as that plaid matched perfectly along all the seams. Today, I’m wearing my third #PamelasPatterns Favorite Bias Skirt. This one is sewn in Coal Slub Texture Linen Blend from #StyleMakerFabrics. The fabric is cool & beautifully drapey. I used the same color to sew a pair of #ThreadTheory #EastwoodPajama pants for my husband. He wears them a lot in the summer! My top is another #TrueBias #OgdenCami. I used leftover Floral Rayon Challis from another bias skirt. I didn’t have large enough pieces to cut on the fold, so both the front & back have center seams. But I like it just fine & feel good about the sustainability-waste-not-want-not mindset. A second pair of linen pajama bottoms using the Eastwood pattern from Thread Theory. Went for a mock fly with these ones rather than the whole shebang like last time. Though I did still do the drawstring and inseam pockets, the waist elastic always seems to come out a little looser than I expect. The pattern is easy to follow with the sewalong blog posts too. I love the feel of linen, it doesnt have any stretch but is super cool, crisp and loose. I have been sewing. I decided to make all of my family pajamas for Christmas. All of the guys got #eastwoodpajamas made from flannel spoon fabric and all the girls got #closetcorecarolyn in a mixed pizza and words fabric. It was a lot of work and I’m tired, but still always enjoyable. I’m thankful for my family.

Some pj shorts and casual pants made for my boy for Christmas - but tweaked this week to fit better around the waist - somehow I made the elastic too short for the shorts and too long for the long pants!! Hubby hates the cold and chose to put on his new Thread Theory Eastwood pants and the jacket I made him around 2013/2014 when I was still in the early years of sewing in earnest. The jacket is literally made from scrap fabric including fleece lined, fleece and polar. At the back, I had to hunt around for one last piece, which was a challenge, you can see at the back the "add-on". The pattern is the McCalls M5538. The design does not call for cuffed sleeves but I think the cuffs look much tidier and were super easy to add. Ultimately the jacket was a test for my skills and for wearing around home only.
