After talking to my husband about all the things he would like to change about the #Woodleytee I made for him (previous post), I decided to go ahead and download a different pattern. This is the @threadtheorydesigns #strathconahenley #strathconatee and is marketed as a slim fit. It has a narrower neck, a narrower sleeve, and a slimmer bodice than the Woodley Tee. His measurements are Chest 42", Waist 36", Hip 40" which puts him at the top end of size Large. However, after tracing the projector file, I found his current t-shirts to match the Medium. So, I downsized to a medium and shortened the bodice by 2". I also shortened the sleeve by 1", but I will shorten the sleeve by 2" next time. I also added the pocket from the Woodley Tee, and now, he is happy 😅. First make of 2025. I’d love to say that I wanted to try something new this year and that it’s all about getting of your comfort zone but the truth is, I bought this fabric in summer 2024 when out shopping for notions. I loved the colours immediately and managed to squeezed this #woodleytee out of a metre of fabric. It’s not my usual style but I love it and it’s fun to be a bit adventurous once in a while when it comes to your choice of fabric. Modifications: took the sleeves in and shortened them, extended the cuffs quite significantly and also extended the neck ribbing by reducing the seam allowance. Do you remember when Thursdays became the new Fridays? I remember it quite vividly when all of a sudden going out on a Friday turned into this big no-no. All the cool people went out on a Thursday instead and pretended that they didn’t struggle through the Friday that followed. Today we broke our routine and turned a Friday walk into a Saturday new-coffeeshop-experience. Firstly we played tourists and walked up the double spiral staircase. Built at the end of the 15th century under the reign of Emperor Maximilian, it travels two stories up to the top floor. I’ve walked up these stairs many times before, but today it was completely empty and we enjoyed taking our time at this architectonical marvel in the middle of town. (Thought of you @incompletestitches ) Afterwards we tried out @meszarosgraz The desserts are made in the headquarters founded almost 100 years ago in Szombathely, Hungary and they are as delicious as they look. (I guess you have to believe me, especially as I didn’t include any photos of the sweets.) The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and it was exactly what I needed at the end of this week. I also snuck in a #makercommunityquilt photo at the end, because I realised that the fabric I used for my skirt is also sewn into the quilt and Sadly I don’t wear the skirt often. I should change that. So this is a celebratory post to basics. 🥳 I was and still am actually in need of some long sleeve tops for winter. Something that feels nice on your skin, doesn’t infringe your movements and is versatile and can be layered. I looked around for a while and decided to give the #woodleytee @threadtheorydesigns a go. This is my first no modification version in the softest 100% organic cotton jersey from @kattun_stoffe . The ribbing is a 2x2 from @mindthemaker What do I love about the pattern? The neck is high, perfect for the cold season and the cuffs give it some extra length and stop the sleeves from sliding. I will make a couple more in the next few weeks and might play around a bit with the pattern. 🎄 Christmas pyjamas 🎄 I’ve been wanting to make us all matching Christmas pjs for ages, and I’m so chuffed I actually managed it, even if I did only finish them this morning 😂 We all wore them today to put up the tree. My boxy embroidered top project. This was my summer on-the-go project I did most of it on the ferry and waiting in line for the ferry. I don't knit very much so I decided to try some embroidery. Once again another make that was finished a while ago and never made it to the grid! 🤦🏻‍♀️ This is the @threadtheorydesigns Woodley Tee. I’ve been wanting to do some more menswear for a while now, and I found this pattern in my local fabric shop @sewfabricsdarlington. The pattern was easy to follow and I really enjoyed making the tshirt. The twill tape across the shoulders was a technique I haven’t used before, but the fabric definitely needed it as it’s a very lightweight jersey that would definitely stretch out without it. I also love that it feels like it adds a touch of quality to the tshirt. I’ll definitely be making this pattern again, James loves it too! I made Dan a jersey tee for his birthday/football season. The Chiefs shirt tradition continues. I tried adding bias binding on the back shoulder seam but messed it up. When I unpicked it I ripped a hole in the jersey 😣 so I did a little reverse applique. I'm posting a quick make today. It's a #woodleytee for my husband. He bought this teal cotton jersey from ebay and requested a contrasting white ribbing fabric for the neckband and cuffs. I really enjoy sewing this pattern by #threadtheorydesigns as it's simple but beautifully put together.

After talking to my husband about all the things he would like to change about the #Woodleytee I made for him (previous post), I decided to go ahead and download a different pattern. This is the @threadtheorydesigns #strathconahenley #strathconatee and is marketed as a slim fit. It has a narrower neck, a narrower sleeve, and a slimmer bodice than the Woodley Tee. His measurements are Chest 42", Waist 36", Hip 40" which puts him at the top end of size Large. However, after tracing the projector file, I found his current t-shirts to match the Medium. So, I downsized to a medium and shortened the bodice by 2". I also shortened the sleeve by 1", but I will shorten the sleeve by 2" next time. I also added the pocket from the Woodley Tee, and now, he is happy 😅.
