First Cutting stream at the new studio! And what better way to start than one with stripes, non-conventional pattern pieces and a lovely crowd! 😄 A viewer (the awesome Raye) had the brilliant suggestion to put the stripes on the upper skirt and upper bodice horizontal. I can’t imagine it any other way now! I’ll be making the long sleeve so we have that as a sewing tutorial (cuffs and plackets!) Sewing apart 1 begins tomorrow at 11 am. Pacific. This project was generously provided to me to cut and sew by @harts_fabric and @decades_of_style Thank you! We love these patterns!! Part One Sewing the #1940sNewEnglandDress by @decades_of_style went so nice. I spent some time on finishing since the pieces are unique and there could be some finishing challenges if you wanted to use a serger or French seams. I included some close up shots just in case you were in the stream and wanted to see them closer. ☺️ Part 2 is on Saturday! I’ll sew the side seams, sleeves, cuffs and zipper.
