More new-ish makes both finished a while ago. The jacket is the @decades_of_style #threesacharmjacket. I added an inch (I think) to the bottom but made no other changes. Fabric is a navy stretch twill from stash and left over from other project. This jacket is unlined so I finished all seams with Hong Kong seams, the bias binding self-made and fabric leftover from another project! The button even came from stash! A great jacket which is getting lots of wear for work. The dress is a hacked #myosotisdress Made just before our holiday back in August. I removed the collar and a made the neck a bit bigger, left it sleeveless and changed the armscye to compensate for this, changed the skirt to be pleated rather than gathers. Finished! I've been itching to make something with this cotton dobby I've had in my stash for a few years now. Conveniently, I had just enough to make a matching skirt/jacket set that looks perfect together or apart. I added cream piping to both to break up the owls and I'm in love with how they turned out! The fabric is lightweight, so I opted to face the hem with bias tape for a little extra body (instead of folding them hem per the pattern). Today we went to the corn maze/pumpkin patch and, despite it being 80°, I was determined to wear my new Three's A Charm jacket and my latest Ginger Jeans. Done! Quick shot of my first Three's a Charm jacket by Decades of Style! Can you believe this only took me a total of 4 hours *including* time to cut and piece the pdf pattern? Sewing efficiency for the win! The only thing I did differently was leave out the interfacing since the velveteen already had enough structure. The fabric was gifted to me a few years ago when I then promptly stuffed it in a bin and forgot about it until tonight. Clearly waiting for just this pattern! It's late here and lighting is weird, so you're just going to have to trust me that the color is not blue but actually a very rich emerald green. I'm looking forward to wearing it out to the pumpkin patch this weekend!
