Size comparison. I’ll be calling this particular dress a size 7. Poppy (left) is about 50 inches tall and 6 years old. This dress fits her much better than my 9 year old. Although it fits, it’s much to short for Lotus, 56 inches tall. These butterfly sleeves are probably the most sentimental piece on all my @projectrunandplay looks for Season 23. To be honest, I'm quite afraid to incorporate it on our finale look. I was afraid of what people will think about it. I'm so happy that it was the most commented piece on our ensemble. After some serious consideration, I carried on and told myself to go ahead and do it! After all, it's signature style theme and what is more signature than our own DNA? We are Filipino-Americans living in the United States and I would love to give nod to both heritage. Rosie the Riveter inspiration for the American, Filipiniana sleeves for the Filipino part, these retro pop art colors to represent my daughter's love for arts and pop art colors and to symbolize the colors of the Philippines flag🇵🇭 (with red and blue being dominant on the US flag as well). I would also love to make something that can be mixed and matched with her other outfits. My daughter is 10 and is done with the cutie frilly outfits and requested that for signature style she wanted comfy separates and practical accessories coz those are what she would always pick from her closet full of momma-made garments. Being Filipino-Americans living in the United States, we decided to do a fusion of both for our entry for @projectrunandplay Finale Week (Signature Style). We were inspired by Rosie the Riveter and a modern Filipina.
