I'm a sucker for marine-kind-of kids clothes . I don't know why, but I can't resist the look of a child in some sailor outfits. ⚓ This fabric was generously given by Minerva and has that typical nautical feeling that I love; with that dark blue color and the cute white anchors... I immediately knew what to do with it. The baby isabel from bebekins was on my -to sew- list for ages and it was now or never since it's the last summer with a baby girl around the house. My first #memade clothing of the year! This is the dress version of the Tabitha t-shirt from the @tillybuttons book ‘Make it Simple’. And, it was really simple to make - this was my first time sewing with stretch knit material. I want to make more versions of this for my wardrobe as it is so comfy and easy to wear. We took Matilda to a playground and it was easy to mum in, and I reckon it’ll be great for wearing to work too. Matilda spam! She’s showing off her newest dress in these photos. It’s the ‘Baby Isabelle’ pattern that was released by @bebekinspatterns today. I was able to be a pattern tester and used some poplin I had picked up from @spotlightstores with no project in mind, I just loved the print. The pattern comes with the option of making a romper or adding long sleeves. I have also seen some gorgeous pattern tester versions made to show off beautiful embroidery placed on the front bodice panel. It has a ruffle around the front bib, a gathered skirt, and Buttons down the back. I can just imagine a winter version in a solid dark coloured linen, with floral embroidery.
