I'm always looking for pretty crochet patterns and when the opportunity to test this peplum came my way, I was super excited amd the excitement level doubled when I was selected as well. I had some hiccups slong the way but eventually I completed it and I love it. Trudy was so accommodating and helping and I enjoyed the journey with jer and all the other testers. The peplum is so versatile and you can play with the pattern in a lot of ways. The color options a endless and you can create multiple patterns by playing with colors as well. This little caboose is in 2nd grade. I’m feeling nostalgic. Welcome to another installment of Sewing Room Story Time! Just before she was born, I bought my first pdf pattern: the @madebyrae #geraniumdress. Shortly after she was born, my oldest daughter saw @Deliacreates version of the @seekatesew #penelopepeplum. She wanted the same dress. So I got the same fabric (in a different colorway) and nervously emailed Kate to find out which size range was best for an 11 year old. She graciously replied and I ended up getting both. All this is to say, every.single.size of both of those dress patterns are printed out and stored in my sewing space. I have 4 daughters and they’ve all worn both patterns. Basically if they pick knit fabric for a dress, it becomes a #pippapeplum. Woven fabric means I’m sewing a #MBRGeranium. Back to the picture. My 2nd grader picked out a lovely white eyelet fabric for picture day. I had it all cut out ready to sew a geranium dress that evening before picture day. But as we discussed changing after pictures she became very concerned about the buttons and needing help to change. “Can I please have an over-my-head dress?” I took a breath and showed her the knit fabrics I have. She chose this floral velour and I made it happen. And she was so happy for picture day. Can’t you see it in her smile? What was your first PDF pattern? We have tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. 🎂 🐖 3️⃣🐖 🎂 . . . A very twirly pig-themed birthday dress for my 3-year-old! I used the #pippadress pattern by @bebekinspatterns and fabric from @joann_stores . For a little pig pizzazz 🐷 I ordered glitter felt pigs from @sassycraftersupply on Etsy. . . . Though the Pippa dress is written to be a single layer, I was able to easily modify it. For the bodice I treated the pink poly blend and tulle as one piece, and lined with with another piece of pink polyester, for a total of three layers of fabric in the bodice. I attached the top tier of both skirts to the bodice, then attached the second tier separately. . . .
