🌸 Another Tilly 🌸 This was a toile for the flower girl dress I made a few weeks back. I wanted to practice how I would hack the bodice to make it lined and once I'd done that I never got round to attaching the skirt and finishing it off! The fabric was from a bag my mother-in-law got free from someone local. As soon as Eliza saw this broderie anglais she said she loved it and wanted it to be a dress. I wasn't sure how it was going to look but I actually LOVE how it turned out and Eliza really enjoyed wearing it to her 'Big Grandad's' 80th at the weekend. 🧡🔔💐Élodie💐🔔🧡 I've not done much sewing this summer but I have worked on one very special project. This is a flower girl outfit for the daughter of one of my best friends for her wedding day. @jennie.l.barnes asked for something to match her beautiful wedding dress and this is what I made. The button on the front is special too as it was from Jennie's Grandma's button box. This project marked a few firsts for me. 🧵 First pattern hacking (to create a lined bodice) 🧵 First time sewing with a voile-like fabric (lots of lessons learnt!) 🧵 First time attaching lace applique (I held my breath for most of it!) I really, really enjoyed this project and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. Thank you for sticking by me 😘⁣ ⁣ Kate asked for a surprise patchwork Tilly and it took me for ever to decide on a colour theme 🙈 Pink is my favourite colour and I love it with the green 💗⁣ ⁣ After much faffing I have made the dress fully reversible and the reverse side can be worn 2 ways. ⁣ ⁣ I’m making a point of cutting squares from my scrap fabrics as I go so I am getting quite a stash! 🇫🇷🦇Holiday dresses🦇🇫🇷 I never posted photos of these dresses actually on the girls. Here's a few from an evening stroll down by the river whilst we were in the Vendée in August. We saw bats on the way back which was one of the highlights of the holiday for Eliza! The last photo is just on the campsite on the kiddie disco night but it makes me laugh because Eliza looks like she's doing some kind of haute couture fashion photo shoot for @voguemagazine with her giant leaf 🤣 She was less glam later raving away to Sandstorm on the stage 🤣 (see stories!) Both dresses are a touch too big, I probably shouldnhave sized down for Hattie anyway and I think I stretched the double gauze a little sewing but hopefully they'll still fit next year!
