Last day of #feelingsewmuchbetter and I made my 5th or 6th (?) @victorypatterns #loladress . IG keeps deleting my texts, again. The last update was annoying to say the least. Fabric is an #estemacleod print from #rebeccareckart and I didn’t have enough of it, so contrast sleeves it is, but I like them. This will probably be my hospital dress next week, because they told me to wear jogging pants, which I actually don’t own, so I reckon this is a close second, as the #victorypatternslola is really #secretpyjamas . I added ribbing to the pockets to stop gaping and graded up from the waist, as on my last one. Loooove this pattern, a #tntpattern for me. Me Made May Day 8: This is a yet-to-be-blogged Victory Patterns Lola from Raspberry Creek oatmeal french terry. This was my second go at the pattern and I lengthened the sleeves to full length for Wisco Winters. It's 50 and rainy today, so seemed like a cozy choice. Finished my #loladress and while I’m proud of the workmanship, I think it’s a size too small. I’m at the age where if a garment requires shapewear, I’m not interested 😅. I made the 6 using a poly double knit and black ribbing from @fabricmart. The pattern itself is wonderful and it came together really quickly, but it’s just a little more form fitting than I wanted. I already ordered fabric for another version (bc of course I did) and here’s my plan: keep everything above the waistline at a 6, slash the shoulders to broaden them a bit, grade to an 8 at the hips, shorten the hem by an inch, and lengthen the sleeves to full length. I can already tell that the shoulders are a little tight (blaah!) but still wearable. Je profite de l'hiver pour continuer de me coudre des robes doudou en sweat... Parce que c'est quand même super agréable à porter ! Voici donc la robe Lola de @victorypatterns découverte grâce à @korrygwen qui l'a cousue juste avant la sortie de la nouvelle collection @seeyouatsixfabric ... Mon tissu était donc tout trouvé ! Je l'ai donc cousu dans le french Terry Dried flower de la dernière collection @seeyouatsixfabric acheté chez @motifpersonnel (gros coup de coeur pour ce tissu !!) et dans le bord-cote assorti. Cette robe est composée de 8 panneaux, ce qui permet d'avoir une forme légèrement cintrée mais ce qui l'a rend assez gourmande en tissu ! Elle a aussi 2 immenses poches de chaque côté (très pratique !!). J'ai réalisé une taille 6 et je l'ai raccourci de 7 ou 8 bons centimètres... Ja, ein Sweatkleid ist recht ungewöhnlich für mich aber ein ungewöhnliches Jahr sorgt eben euch für neue Vorlieben was Kleidung angeht. Ich habe einiges am Schnitt geändert. Weitere Infos findet ihr auf meinem Blog. {English} Finally I managed to take photos of my favourite dress pattern from 2020 - the #VictoryPatternsLola Dress. I already have three versions of it. The first was was a wearable "muslin" out of fabric scraps (photo 5) and the second is this dress in a rust colour. The pattern is constructed for people who are over 20cm (7") taller than me. Therefore I had to alter the pattern quite a lot but as there are many usefully information on the pattern and several "lengthen/shorten lines" this was an easy alternation. Another #primrosepullover for our Easter morning stroll. I had this amazing @estemacleod print fabric from @rebecca.reck.art and didn’t want to break up the print, so this pattern by @sarahblaho was perfect. I have some fabric left for colour blocking on another project at some point, it’s just so beautiful and detailed. (Last three photos show more detail) The sun is out but it’s quite chilly today. I love this Lola sweater dress from @victorypatterns - but I have two issues with it. (It's not the pattern itself, which is lovely; these are Erin Problems™️.)⁠ 💙⁠ First, I sewed this pattern too large; I should have gone at least one size smaller. The proportions are juuuust a little off for my body. (If you'd like to see more photos of Lola, go to the bio link and search "lola.")⁠ 💙⁠ Second, I hung the dress on a hanger, and I *think* it's stretched out, obviously not a good scene for a garment that already was too big.⁠ 💙⁠ TBH, I would reach for this dress more if I didn't feel like it looked out of proportion on me. Making this @victorypatterns Lola dress was an excellent distraction from everything just before Christmas. Although I've essentially made it twice because I made it far too big first and had to take apart and re-sew with all the seams taken in. I'm still not entirely happy with the fit but I'm also far too lazy to tinker with it anymore - there's only so many tiny stitches you can unpick from sweatshirt fabric... Words cannot express how I adore this @victorypatterns #loladress ❤️ Hubby snapped a few pictures outside and when I came down this morning he said “Holy sh**, that’s nice”, which is the highest praise he ever muttered. The fabric is an @estemacleod print and was bought @rebecca.reck.art . The print is called hummingbirds. I was going to pattern match, but didn’t have enough fabric and I think it’s not too obvious anyway. The ribbing is very slightly sparkly, inspired by the fabulous sweater @thatfatwombatottawa made recently. I graded out one size at the waist and otherwise didn’t change anything, apart from the pockets. On my last two #victorylola the pockets were gaping, which was a tiny bit annoying. This time I cut ribbing slightly shorter than the pockets and am very happy with the result. The new sleeve and skirt length are much better for me on the updated version.
