Pendant les deux/trois derniers jours de ma convalescence, j'ai réussi à coudre. La veste #ddlupin dans une magnifique suédine terracotta de chez #thesweetmercerie, bien souple comme il faut. La doublure est un très joli tissu de Cotton+Steel trouvée chez #nekonekofabric Je l'ai coupée en 38, sans aucune modification. Je n'ai pas surpiqué l'encolure et les pans devant parce que je n'avais pas assez de fil de la bonne couleur mais ça ne me gène pas plus que ça pour le moment. Le t-shirt est mon grand classique #ddplantain en 42. La seule modification est d'avoir modifié les manches courtes en manches tulipes. La jupe est une vieille jupe #victorypatternsmadeleine dont j'ai juste bougé le crochet de fermeture pour l'adapter à mes nouvelles mensurations. Je n'avais modifié que la longueur. D'ailleurs, petit truc : la plupart de mes jupes ont l'ourlet plus ou moins plombé pour éviter les coups de vents taquins en sortie de métro ou dans la rue. Pour ça j'utilise du plomb à rideau, trouvable en mercerie.

You probably already know this, but I bloody LOVE topstitching! 😍 I spent yesterday working on my Madeleine skirt by @victorypatterns and it was a joy to sew, especially in this absolutely delicious wool from @merchantandmills. 🤤 Just a couple of button holes and the hem to go once I've picked up some more thread! 🤦‍♀️

This makes it to MeMadeMay every year I just noticed. It’s on regular repeat. 🦺The waistcoat is the Billy unisex pattern from @merchantandmills, which is in the occasionally worn category. Denim from @missmaudenz . 👗The skirt was one of my earliest makes upon returning to sewing. It’s the Madeline skirt from @victorypatterns . I detached the suspenders for the day. I bought the @victorypatterns Madeleine skirt in December 2018, spent 9 months finding the perfect fabric and then another 3 months plucking up the courage to cut into it - but it was absolutely worth the wait! 🙌🏼 Wool is the traditional gift for your 7th wedding anniversary, so I asked my husband for 2m of this beautiful (and expensive) cloth from Merchant and Mills when we celebrated last summer. 🎁 It's worked beautifully with the pattern and I'm so in love with my skirt - the colour, texture and drape of the wool, the delicious topstitching, the adorable suspenders and the deepest pockets EVER! 😍 This project was another buddy sew with @patsypoomakes - head over to her grid to see the perfect denim version she made and get a #sewingboner over her lapped zip! 🍆 I also made my breton, which is a @sewoveritlondon Edie top and my necklace, which was a kit from @stitching_me_softly! 💕

I’ve been finishing my long overdue #victorypatternsmadeleine skirt today. The waistband is on & finished, it just needs hemming now 🧵✂️ I have decided to leave the straps off. However I’m really undecided on the length. I’m only 4’11” & as you can see it has turned out midi length on me. This is quite a wintery skirt & I have also fully lined it so I will probably only be wearing it with boots & tights. I’m just not sure if it’s a bit “little house on the prairy“ 🤔 Do you have any thoughts on this length?
