Immediately catapulting to my most made #memadeeveryday — my summer robe! Honest photos from after coffee, but before anything else 🤣 This is a #samararobe #samaracardigan by @victorypatterns in a gorgeous Nirvana Triple gauze from @moderndomestic and the floral fabric is quilting cotton I am sooo in love with this robe! The fabric is perfection and, knowing that I would wear it everyday, I really spent time on thinking through the details and making them super special! The whole project is true flat felled seams, I did decorative quilting stitches around all of the hems, the tie and the pockets… I attached the belt to the back with nesting box pleats to take up the excess fabric at the waist… a coordinating and extra long hang tie, even the pockets are lined!! — this puppy is decked out! I have to say that, for what could have been a quick sew, it took me a long time! Both in the thinking / planning and executing, but it will be such a joy to wear every morning… and many evenings! Lazy week this week feeling like I want to live in my pajamas so I made this @victorypatterns #samararobe that I made out of some @measurefabric sateen solid rib knit that I purchased earlier in the year! I love how this turned out and is perfect for lounging around...silk smooth! I ordered some pajamas recently but also made another pair so since quarantine pjs are becoming a large part of my life haha! I wanted to tone it down a bit today because it’s a Monday and well, life has been crazy busy lately! I am glad I have sewing to keep me sane and my daughter has been enjoying some sewing as well! She is loving every minute of it! . Looking back on my wedding photos from a year ago and missing all of the amazing people who made the day so special. Thought it was about time I sewed some lounge-wear, since we’re still stuck at home. So I made a cardi (anyone else find the idea of a cardi frumpy and cringey, but the reality is you love them?). I think it turned out nice enough to wear when not at home too, what d’ya reckon? . Anywho... this is the Samara Robe/Cardigan from Victory Patterns, which I added length to on the bodice and sleeves, and made out of a loop backed heavy jersey from #minervacrafts (thought I was buying sweatshirt fabric and was going to make a hoody, but when it came I had to change the plan somewhat 🤦‍♀️). I also sewed the hanging loop into the back neckline on the outside instead of the inside... as a design detail, but also to avoid the loop making the back bit look lumpy. . I’m not usually into drapey things, but I really quite like this; particularly the big 7/8 length sleeves and the pockets... even if my darling husband’s first comment upon its completion was ‘got your wizard’s sleeves and clown pockets then?’.
