A perfect little marriage of fabrics and color palette. The star of my fit (which Iām calling English countryside core š) is my reversible Causeway bomber jacket by @itchtostitch. I loved the floral wool challis from @stonemountainfabric used for the torso and back, and happened to find color-coordinating wool coating deep in my stash from years ago that I decided to use for the arms. However, those fabric weights are drastically different and wouldnāt have otherwise worked together without the unsung hero of the jacket: the fleece-backed, softshell performance material used on the reversible side. From @corefabrics, it has enough structure to give the whole jacket stability while being thin enough to avoid bulkiness in the arms. Itās understated but necessary, plus itās warm, so the jacket makes a great layering piece in Houstonās generally mild winter.
I paired my bomber with a Jackie dress from @victorypatterns in a matcha rib knit also from @stonemountainfabric. Knits and I are frenemies - more than anything, I have a hard time making them look polished for a variety of reasons. This effort was a decent attempt and Iām happy with the final results, but despite making the appropriate size for my measurements, it originally fit like a sack with no negative ease. So at the last minute, I took it in by a total of 2.5ā at the side seams. Itās still a touch big and I donāt know what size Iād make if I attempted it again. š¤·š¾āāļø
