Rowena Jumpsuit & Pants
The Rowena Jumpsuit & Pants feature a relaxed fit with a touch of elegance and maximum comfort. The jumpsuit has wide elbow-length grown-on sleeves, overlapping bodice panels creating a V-neckline, released pleats at the bust, and a back tie. Both the jumpsuit and pants include slash side pockets and a shirred waistband with wide-leg styling available in full and cropped lengths.

Giving the @victorypatterns #rowenajumpsuit a bit of exposure today as the lack of sunshine is keeping it tucked away in the wardrobe đ

Unusual photo !! Focus was on house not what I was wearing. For info upside down house is in Milton Keynes where we went yesterday to see John Bishop in a matinée performance. I am wearing my most recent make which is the #rowenajumpsuit from @victorypatterns. Fabric is viscose from @minervadotcom. I made this following inspiration from @julie_sews_her_own_clothes who featured a beautiful version in one of her vlogs on YouTube, thanks to Julie for that. I love this make with its shirred waistband and crossover top that doesn't gape. Odd thing about pattern was the trouser length. I am 5ft 7in tall and always have to lengthen bodice on patterns by 2in but trouser length is usually OK but on this pattern the trousers were so long I had to cut several inches off. I will definitely make another jumpsuit as it's an easy make, easy to get on and off because of the shirred waistband and very comfortable to wear. Pattern can also be used to make palazzo pants. #sewistsofinstagram #sewingismysuperpower #sewingover70

Amazing weekend visiting and celebrating family. This was one of my new me mades I brought along for the ride. Details: - @victorypatterns #rowenajumpsuit - fabric @blackbirdfabrics #ecoveroviscose, beautiful quality and drape; 2 meters was exactly enough - I made a lot of pattern adjustments based on my totally unwearable muslin. If you plan to make this pattern, I highly recommend you read both blog posts written by @sewdiypatterns. I extended front and back pieces by 3 inches for a fba (see pic), shortened pant length, didnât use bias facing (just folded over), serged all seams, made ties narrower by half, enclosed waist band for neater finish inside (see pic), extended rise and widened leg by using my #mnflint pattern (see pic) - I will probably make another since I spent so much time getting the fit right, probably a solid color, maybe as shorts #hansonhandmade #selfcaresewing #memadeeveryday #wearart #imadethis #isew #imademyclothes #memade #handmadewardobe #imadeit #fiberart #bernina #bernina1008 #artforeveryday #artisanmade #isewmyownclothes #handmadeclothing #youcanhackit #victoryrowena #victorypatterns #jumpsuitpattern #sewwithvictory #blackbirdfabrics

Finished my @victorypatterns #rowenajumpsuit in our last @threadden class this morning. This was a toile made from some cheap rayon/polyester fabric which has a bit of dye run happening, but you actually can't tell in the final piece so I'm calling it wearable! Graded from a 16 at the shoulders to a 22 at the waist (there's no zip or other fastening, so the bottom of the bodice piece where it joins the waistband needs to be big enough to pull over your hips). I cut out the cropped length, but the legs still dragged on the floor when I put it on. I had to cut 13cm off and turn up a 10cm hem to get them to this length! #melbournesews #curvysewing #millennialsewing #handmadewardrobe #imakemyownclothes

â Lightweight & fluid, our newest range of viscose poplin solids pair perfectly with all sorts of enchanting, breezy silhouettes. đ â â We especially can't wait to sew them up into flowy summer dresses, like the @les.perlines #SundazeDress (up to a 55" chest, 60" hip) and wide-leg jumpsuits, like the @victorypatterns #RowenaJumpsuit (up to a 58" chest, 60" hip)! đâ â With colourways as vivacious as Candy Pink, Fire Red, Magenta Rose, Bellflower, and Viridian Green, and as timeless as Black, Ivory, Blueberry, and Cactus, there's a little something in this range for everyone. đâ â Also a fantastic choice for lining garments, we can't wait to see all you whip up with these swishy solids! đâ â [Image description:â Nine smooth and lightweight solid-colour fabrics are folded and stacked on the bottom step of a wooden step-stool in front of a white backdrop. My #makenine2023 which I've planned using #stashhub. Some are for me and some are for my daughter/gifts, already started on the first one so feeling good about getting these done (for now đŹ). All are planned with fabric and patterns I already have as something I really need to do this year is to get my stash under control! Patterns are; #sewingmarnie by @tillybuttons #sewingstevie by @tillybuttons #sewinglyra be @tillybuttons #rowenajumpsuit by @victorypatterns #sewingbillie by @tillybuttons #hotchocolatesweatshirt by @wavesandwild #siroccojumpsuit by @deer_and_doe_patterns #yantaoveralls by @helens__closet #fringedress by @chalkandnotch #makenine #stashhub #shopmystash #sewingmoresustainably

I finally decided that I am going to do a #makenine2025, but I'm going to be more focused about it this year. There was a new year post by @sewover50, which really helped me to make up my mind. So, because I already feel overwhelmed by my pattern and fabric stashes and I don't need to buy more, each garment on the list will use something I already own. And as this year, I have decided to ditch unrealistic New years resolutions in favour of manageable monthly goals, I'm taking the same approach to #makenine and including my sewing plans in that. My plans are: 1. A #kielowrapdress in a floral viscose jersey. I own both the fabric and pattern already. 2. #hamptonjeanjacket the second. I loved making my first one, and I wanted to recreate a long-lost rtw jacket in a thinner, darker fabric. I own both already. 3. At the end of the summer, I did a wardrobe audit and felt I could do with another pair of loose lightweight trousers. Like the #rowenajumpsuit bottoms, a pattern I already own. I also have other options in the stash. 4. I also felt I wanted another summer jumpsuit. I own the #zadiejumpsuit and #bowerymccalls, so it will be one of those. 5. I have some unsewn pleather in my stash, and although it was originally earmarked for a dress, I have a hankering for some culottes even though this seems a bit crazy. I was drawn to the style of this rtw pair and think I could recreate something similar using #mccalls7661, which I already own. 6. I got a free copy of #m7969 last year, and I have some leopard print viscose, and they seem like a good combo. 7. I bought some viscose last year which I knew was destined for a skirt. I have wrap skirt #s9109 in my stash, which I think will be perfect for the fabric. 8. I have some cream needlecord in my stash and have my eyes on the #namedlempi dress for it. 9. I've had some burgundy drill in the stash for ages, which just needs to be trousers. I could default to my faithful #persephonepants or #dawnjeans, but I am also tempted by the #landerpants. The #seamworkani are on the long list as I'm a subscriber and don't use enough of their patterns. #sewingplans #sewistsofinstagram #sewover50january2025 #2025goals #isew

A while back I bought my first Libertyâs Tana lawn! I picked @duckadillyfabrics special run of neon Betsy, and my mom picked Zephyr for some Rowena jumpsuits for our beach vaca. I want a whole closet of these so I can just wear what are essentially socially acceptable pajamas every day. #victorypatterns #rowenajumpsuit #libertyfabric #tanalawncotton

I pretty much never sew frosting, partly because I have a sad little life and don't go anywhere fancy but mainly because it's pretty wasteful. However, there has to be an exception to this rule, and getting tickets to the #bbcproms disco prom was exactly that. Obviously, there was no need to dress disco, and lots of people did forgo the sequins, etc. but ages ago, I'd mysteriously purchased this starry sateen with no plan for it. I'm pretty sure it was an impulse purchase that I immediately regretted as it really isn't very me (I really hate shiny and grey, and this is both). Anyway, the prom was clearly this fabrics moment, and initially, I thought about a dress. However, given the unpredictability of this summers weather, I decided a jumpsuit was the safer bet. After some research and dithering, I plumped for the @victorypatterns #rowenajumpsuit but of course, I didn't have anything like enough fabric. So, a second purchase of the fabric was required, but luckily, not only was it still in stock, but it was in the sale. The jumpsuit was pretty easy to make, and the instructions are excellent. I made the size that corresponded to my measurements, but I don't often toile because I am a #badsewist and it feels a little big all round, although possibly not enough to size down. It is drafted for a taller physique than mine, but nevertheless, I made the cropped leg version, and it came out comically long. So far, I have removed four inches from the legs, and they are full length on me and will be chopped further. I also feel there is a little too much fabric in the front when I sit down, so I'd look to altering that in future versions. The fabric was a slippery pain to sew and the tie at the back slips loose, no matter how tight I tie it, but it feels lovely to wear and was perfect for a hot night at the Royal Albert Hall. And the prom was fab, which explains the terrible fuzzy photos.. #sewfrosting #jumpsuit #memadejumpsuit #discoprom #lovelondon #imadeitmyself #isewmyownclothes #imakemyownclothes #sewist #isew #memade #memadeeveryday #sewover50july #lovetosew #starfabric #disco #londonsews

â Wondering what sorts of makes to whip up with our Raw Silk Noil? đ€â â There aren't many bad options! This ultra-versatile woven is a Birdie go-to for everything from occasion-wear pieces to everyday staples. đâ â To help narrow it down, we've gathered up a few of our top pattern picks to sew up with these soft and dreamy silks:â â 1. The @victorypatterns #RowenaJumpsuit (up to a 58" chest, 60" hip)â â 2. The @chalkandnotch #EvelynSkirt (up to a 59" hip)â â 3. The @fridaypatterncompany #SquareNeckTop (up to a 60" chest)â â 4. The @erbaccia_studio #AtropaTop (up to a 63" chest, 66" hip)â â 5. The @sewhouse7 #WildwoodWrapDress (up to a 58" chest, 65" hip)â â âïž As easy to sew as it is to care for, adding these punchy hues to your me-made wardrobe is truly a breeze! â â Unlike most other silks that require delicate handling and dry-cleaning, this woven fabric is machine washable (yes, you heard that right!) and sews up as easily as a linen or cotton. đâ â Need more garment ideas? Sometimes I donât fall in love with an item after finishing it. It gets buried in a drawer and I forget about it. After a few weeks or months I stumble upon it again and then it either get recycled in to something else or I discover that I actually do like it. Thatâs what happened with my Rowena Pants from @victorypatterns . I made them when I was pregnant (thinking the shirred waist would be perfect for early pregnancy) but when I tried them on they just didnât feel or look like I wanted. They stayed in the back of my closet for months but then one day I decided to give them a second chance. And now I canât believe that I ever disliked them! They are perfect for this warm spring weather. I love the deep hem and the shirring makes them unbelievably comfortable. Honestly, the problem was me and not the pants or the pattern. Thereâs still a few things thatâs bothering me with this pair. First of all I didnât care about matching the stripes, this was meant to be kind of a toile so I just didnât pay that much attention to if the stripes would match or not. I wish I would have done at least a bit of effort trying to match the stripes, but thatâs ok. I did struggle with getting the shirring right, not sure what went wrong but it kept getting to loose or to tight. The shirring thread did break and I just couldnât get the right thread tension, think I will have to go back and redo some of the shirring later. And my last issue is the fabric. I picked it up from a remnant bin marked with âviscose remnantsâ about two years ago, but this is most definitely not viscose but some kind of synthetic fiber. Not sure how I didnât notice when I bought it. Still going to enjoy these and probably going to use them loads during the warmer months. (And I always love a matching set so couldnât resist making a matching top so I can have a faux jumpsuit). Jumpsuits kan ju vara lite bökigt, men ack sĂ„ snyggt. Tur dĂ„ att man kan komma runt det hela genom att göra ett matchande set.
