I made a bodysuit!! Not since the 90s has a bodysuit graced my wardrobe. This pattern (the Lisa bodysuit/top) was released very recently by @bellalovespatterns, I saw her post about it, fell in love 😘 with the off shoulder neckline and snapped it up straight away. The pattern includes options to sew a top instead of bodysuit and it comes in 2 lengths for taller/shorter folks. I chose to make a size 14 in the longer length -- I'm not tall but I have a long torso -- and it fits like a glove 🥊 The instructions and method are very detailed to get a precise finish ✅. I'm pretty happy with how I did except I did get a little confused about inner/outer shoulders along the way 🤔. The garment also has an inner shelf-bra for support. I didn't do a great job of attaching the elastic. I have ordered a taping foot for my Brother 2504d overlocker to sew elastic onto garments. Maybe I should have waited for it to arrive? Oh well. I plan to make another Lisa in black 🖤 The fabric I used was thrifted from @thesewinglair - I think it's a poly spandex. So I thought I was making a new work top, but I don’t know if this is really work appropriate… in any case, I love the @bellalovespatterns Lisa top and bodysuit. The construction is brain testingly complex, but there is a fab instruction video on YouTube that quickly clears up the complex parts. It’s very cleverly done. I had to take in the sides quite a bit, as I prefer a tighter fit. And I haven’t hemmed it, because I’ll always wear it tucked it (I may hem it in the future). But I love the final fit. Can’t wait to wear it out out. When you own a fabric shop, people always ask “Did you make what you’re wearing?”. For the recent wedding of my firstborn, I knew the answer had to be “Yes”, and not just for me. Three pocket squares for husband, groom, and my dad in @libertyfabrics Tana lawn. Working out dimensions and cutting out veil, plus setup of overlocker for rolled hemming (bride herself sewed it).
