I got the fabric for this dress in Sienna, Italy when I was visiting a few years ago. I couldn’t decide for the longest time what to make. Finally this dress with a dramatic full length skirt and oversized bow was what I settled on. I am so glad I did. I love it and what little girl wouldn’t love it also! It’s a size 2T but it has an elastic waist and the straps are adjustable. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary earlier this month so it only made sense to schedule some family pictures while we were on our vacation ❤️⁣ .⁣ The last time we did family pictures I made each of our outfits so I knew I wanted to do the same thing again. I wanted the girls’ dresses to pop and what better way to accomplish that than some @riflepaperco fabric? They’re obsessed with “fancy” dresses hence the long gowns. Their dresses were pretty easy to make aside from the hemming. I simply dislike hemming rayon 🥴 ⁣ .⁣ Then for my dress I had a vision of the style of dress and the fabric but it took me a little bit to commit. I ended up finding the fabric on @spoonflower and then it just so happened that this pattern was about to go into testing so I risked it, hoping that it would time out well that it would release with plenty of time for me to make it. Thankfully that’s exactly how it played out 💁🏻‍♀️⁣ .⁣ And of course for @nlours89 we went with the trusty Fairfield. I worked out some fit issues with the long sleeve version a few months ago knowing that I’d be making this version using some Oxford shirting from @moodfabrics .⁣ Our photographer @timeless.paris was fantastic! Alors que j’ai commencé par coudre exclusivement pour mes marmots, à présent, c’est devenu beaucoup plus rare, alors cette petite robe de fête pour ma choupette, je l’ai soignée. Déjà, c’était ma première pour les patrons anglais @violettefieldthreads et le résultat est magnifique mais pour les explications, j’ai un peu galéré pour comprendre l’association entre le dos et le devant. J’y ai passé un peu de temps afin d’être sûre de bien saisir le montage . Bon, après, ça a été vite réalisé, en 1 journée. Le tissu, c’est une aubaine, il est à 7€ le m, chez @bemercerine , et il est vraiment très chou, pas seulement pour les cerises couleur bordeau, mais aussi parce qu’il y a de délicats petits points noirs et un peu de bleu ciel, j’adore! Pour la jupe, la miss a enfilé la robe et j’ai tracé sur elle une courbe entre le devant court et l’arrière qui touche le sol. Une fois la robe enlevée, je l’ai pliée sur le devant pour reproduire la même courbe sur l’autre côté. J’ai posé un biais rouge pour que l’envers se voit joliment.
