Back with a second pair of Calders that needed some attention. I used the same pleat-at-the-hip fix to take the room out of the waistband that I used on yesterday’s pants and shortened the legs a few inches. I used to hate this pair of pants and now I love it. The top is a simple box top with grown on sleeves. No pattern. It was a dress but never got any use so I cut it down to be a t. I love my newly made #stylearcsorrento skirt! I bought the fabric from #frankierosefabrics and thought I’d make a dress. I loved the pattern of the fabric the first moment I saw it! I realized that I could mix and match a skirt with different tops for different seasons. I had hoped to make a matching top but this skirt pattern took up all 3 yards!! I made my own piping to highlight the angled tier since I knew it would get lost in the fabric. It swirls nicely and is very comfortable. Of course I added pockets and a ribbon tag so I can easily know where the back is. 😋 I needed warmth so added my #ellieandmacbeminecardigan.

I have one of the most amazing neighbors! She has been my trusted friend over the years. She has baked yummy treats, brought me plants, cut my grass when I couldn’t, etc. She’s that person that you want staying next to you. She watches my house when I’m out of town and I do the same for her. She has been through a lot as I have also. We enjoy long talks over tea. She’s a gem! I knew that I wanted to make something for her, which would only be a small token for all that she’s done for me. This cardigan was the perfect idea. I took it over to her and she was very shocked! She marveled over it and kept asking if I REALLY made it. 😂 She knew that I took up sewing but had never seen anything that I made in person.
