A mending project on my #ellieandmacteedress (pattern link in profile). 😉 🪡 I really enjoy this dress, it a great project for patterned fabrics (which tend to be my favorite). 🧵 I used a rayon knit fabric for this one and I found the neckline would sag as I wore it. 🙈 I snipped in some 1/8” elastic inside the neckband to bring up the neckline. I didn’t take any seams apart, I literally just left the snip inside the neckband (in case I need to replace the elastic later). Trim the ends so they’re long enough to tuck inside each side of the hole to hid them. ✂️ A quick/easy fix and I’ll wear the dress more often now.😄👏 #mending #oakbluedesigns

Mmm not sure about this dress🤔. Firstly the placement of those diamonds kinda bugs me. The fabric isn’t symmetrical and I thought I’d placed them higher up but because it’s so stretchy that’s where they ended up! The super stretchiness also made hemming fun. None of my usual methods worked so I learned for the first time how to do a rolled hem on my overlocker, but that did exactly what it says on the tin, it ROLLED ! But the wrong way!!! In the end I’ve done a rainbow 4 thread overlock. Breaking all the rules. I nearly didn’t post but I’m keeping it real and at least I learned a new technique along the way. Will I wear it ? Yes because I wear everything I make unless it’s a complete disaster.
