Fun pajama set! I used a couple of simple patterns as a test for day wear and an excuse to use my travel and treadle machines, which I have owned for a bit, but haven’t used for any significant sewing.
The pajama top was sewn on my Bernina 1008, and is #theactofsewingtop from The Act of Sewing book by Sonya Philip. I graded halfway between L & XL, based on the high bust, then did a 4” FBA. I also chose to do a bias tape for the neckline rather than the facing option. I don’t love it in the cotton I chose, but since it’s just pajamas, I don’t care. I left in the width instead of taking it out and if I were to try this again, I’d choose to take it out and probably in a drapier fabric. I’m not a huge fan of the boxy top, and should’ve considered that when I left that extra in.
The pj pants are the @ellieandmac_patterns #feelprettypants in a 2XL graded to XXL at the hip. I wouldn’t normally pick the capri length but this was the length that worked for amount of fabric I had. This was sewn on my 1910 Singer using the treadle! I did move to the Bernina for zigzag needs like joining the elastic at the waist and for buttonholes for the drawstring. I absolutely loved sewing on my (new to me) treadle, although I did need a visit from the wonderful person I purchased it from to realize that I was putting the needle in the wrong way. And I’m still struggling with the bobbin winding/case.
