This jumper was supposed to be boring… well, that was the plan—to make a simple, plain-colored jumper for my kid. But I couldn't resist adding a bit of pattern! Another must-have? Pockets! My little one won’t accept anything without a place to stash treasures now. So, I whipped up this hoodie today! It took me some time between serving my lovely customers and making sure every topstitch was spotless, but here it is! I used the Elle and Mac "Around the Block" hoodie pattern for kids, and as always, it was a pleasure to sew. There are a few tricky spots where you need to be extra careful, but overall, it's an easy and fun hoodie to make—especially when playing with colors and prints! For this one, I used French terry in Petrol (No. 25), Sky (No. 15), and Navy (No. 18). https://www.eco-bee-fabrics.com/ft-solids I added a little front pocket with an extra front panel, but that’s all. 😊 By the way, meet my new friend! Loving my new #pietrapants from @closetcorepatterns made from a fun quilted fabric I got at @sasfabrics_tempe for $2.99 a yard! Now I want to do a deep dive on upholstery fabrics for pietra pants :) I also made this #aroundtheblockhoodie from @ellieandmac_patterns with the color blocking from the #lottehoodie from @sinclairpatterns using a thrift store soft blanket. It is so warm and lovely. I almost never wear or use beige but this is growing on me :)

L'avantage de commencer sa journée de boulot à 7h30 c'est de rentrer à 17h et d'avoir du temps 😁 Et comme j'essaie de vider un peu mon stock de tissus, voici un petit hoodie avec des chutes de ... 2021 😅 J'avoue que j'ai un peu galéré pour couper toutes les pièces : - la capuche devait être grise - les bandes des manches et du bas devaient être plus larges - les poches (sisi ya des poches) n'ont pas été découpées dans le droit fil Pas grave on s'adapte et j'ai pu utiliser entièrement les 3 chutes de tissus. Patron : Around the Block Hoodie de @ellieandmac_patterns J'avais acheté et tenté ce patron en février 2022. Le tissu utilisé (alpen fleece, un sorte de jogging avec un envers tout doux) était trop épais pour ma surjeteuse. Ca m'a tellement énervé que j'ai fini par jeter mes 30 euros de tissus et mis le patron de côté. Tissus de @driessenstoffen : - sweatstof (équivalent du french terry) de ma toute première commande en mai 2021 ! Pour les poches et l'intérieur de la capuche - knitted de ma commande de décembre 2021 pour faire des pulls à offrir (les références utilisées ne sont plus sur le site) Tout à la surjeteuse LIDL 1450OL en 4h (découpe comprise !) Me Made May Day 16🧵🪡 Just when you thought my photos could not get worse 😬 I am not well and pretty sure this is as good as it’s going to get today . Both the top and the bottoms are me made and I’m thinking of removing them both from my wardrobe . When I made these pants they were meant to be a size smaller . I used the wrong pattern pieces 🤦‍♀️ I also don’t love the fabric so probably not worth trying to save . I didn’t realise it would be so thin. Perils of buying fabric online . Just not sure how I feel about this top . As you can see if I put my hand in the pocket it hangs below the bottom of the top . It’s made out of French terry so it’s comfortable. I’m never sure what to wear it with . I feel like I’m just keeping it because I made it and that not always a good reason.
