For this weeks challenge I used one of the two fabrics I thrifted one of the last days of 2022. So that is a #ChallengeAccepted I made a hack on the @ellieandmac_patterns Cuddle Tunic, I turned it into a high low crop top, and mashed it with the hood of the Oversized Tee. I also made flared pants out of the same fabric, but I'm waiting for the elastic to arrive, so it isn't finished yet. I have a small piece remaining and I will use that soon, to finish my fabrics and have less leftovers. I'm also done with the fluff 😆😜 I paired it with the Summer Vibes V-Neck Top by Orange Daisy, which included the instructions of a beautiful scalloped armscye. I used a few light sweater knits from @shopolgascloset and I think it turned out well! I chose short sleeves and a regular neckband because I've made clothes out of sweater knit before with long sleeves and been too hot. Happily, my new cardigan is made with the same fabrics as the pockets and matched perfectly (4th pic) And lastly, I made leg warmers (5th pic) out of that marbled fabric too. I wish they were a bit tighter. @jongdesign suggested to make them tighter and I was worried they would be too tight. Every year we make a trek to @greenacresdairy for the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch. This year Viv was a lot more into it since she’s bigger and in full on “play” mode. English translation below ======= Vandaag kwam deze lieve tuniek onder m’n naaimachine vandaan rollen. Dit schatje is voor een kerstaanvraag van The Foundation for Kids. Ik gebruikte restjes van een See You at Six french terry (die strook was net te smal, dus ik moest wat creatief knippen, en maakte zijvoor- en achterpanden met een strookje wit ertussen) en een superzachte brushed french terry met gouden glitterstippen. Toen ik deze resten kreeg vond ik het al een gouden combinatie, maar zo voor kerst is het natuurlijk helemaal geweldig! Ik maakte hem trouwens 3 cm langer, zodat het net iets meer jurk is, en de boord aan de onderkant is iets wijder, ik heb de wijdte van de rondgebreide boordstof aangehouden. De kleur van de maillot krijg ik niet helemaal goed vastgelegd, maar vind ik zelf erg mooi erbij. Lekker herfstig! This cutie is for a Christmas request from The Foundation for Kids. I used leftovers from a See You at Six French terry (that strip was just a bit too narrow, so I had to be a bit creative in cutting, and made side front and back panels with a strip of white in between) and a super soft brushed French terry with gold glitter dots. When I received these remnants I already thought it was a golden combination, but for Christmas it is of course absolutely fantastic! By the way, I made it 3 cm longer, so that it is just a bit more of a dress, and the band at the bottom is a bit wider, I kept the width of the circular knitted cuff fabric. I can't quite capture the color of the tights, but I think it looks very nice with it. Very autumnal! FLORAL TUNIC DRESS 💐 . Happy Birthday to my Mother in Law! I thought that this would be cosy for her to wear around the house and garden so chose to make the cowl neck option, dress length and also added some length to the sleeves. I like matching fabric and clothes patterns/styles to people in my head, but when actually sewing gifts I do have to take into account whether or not they’d actually wear the garment that I’m making! The Cuddle Tunic by @ellieandmac_patterns is probably one of the comfiest dresses I've ever made. I think I may live in it this winter - except my kids, absolutely horrified, said: "But Mummy! You'll wash it, right???? 😄 The solid is a cotton French Terry and the print is a light, flowy sweater knit ( from @fabricland.canada ) . I'm wearing a fitted shirt underneath for warmth. It's an @ellieandmac_patterns kinda day in my van. This cuddle tunic was the first garment I made as an adult and I spent a long time (and 3 muslins!) perfecting the fit with the support of the Facebook sewing community. Have you tried the Cuddle Tunic yet? I knew this was a comfy and flattering design but these pictures blew me away. I have make this in the dress length and left off the front pocket in the past with the straight sleeves but this time went for it all. These are the fullest Bishop sleeves I've made and the pictures sealed my thoughts on them. They are beautiful and fun and so on trend. My husband seldom comments but made a point of liking this one. If DBP is to warm for you than the Bishop sleeves should solve that problem as they are quite airy. I've listed my affliate if you are inspired to give this pattern a try.
