I can’t say I’m one for swimsuit selfies, and even less so when it’s in my poorly lit bathroom at 10.30pm; but was super excited to try on my finished tankini! I have coveted the fabulous @olu_bycm mootastic space designed by @karly_art_design for ages, and the fact they were available in swim gave me the great (foolhardy) idea to make my own swimsuit. The pattern is @ellieandmac_patterns #gatheredtankiniswimsuit and is super comfortable. I can’t wait to show it off at Waterbabies on Sunday morning with Pip. Apologies to anyone who wanted to go the beach, I have of course jinxed it and this weekend is looking rather damp 🙈

Swipe to sew my new DIY swimsuit! This is the @ellieandmac_patterns Gathered Tankini Swimsuit Pattern. It's is in the Ellie and Mac Weekly Sale ($3.50, I'll add the link to my story if you want to see the pattern!) I like it because it covers up like a one piece, but wers like a two-piece! It has a built-in bra, a banded hem, multiple options for coverage on the bottoms, and an optional separate skirt. The bottoms are reversible, so you could get two different looks by choosing a different fabric for the opposite side. I had to pop over to the video tutorial to finish the bottoms. What a great resource. The fabric is from @surgefabricshop (it's Kdeer athletic fabric; not sure if they still have it?). I'm happy to have a new swimsuit; my current suit has seen better days.
