wohoo! my first @truebias #ogdencami made out of #riflepapercofabric leftovers from another dress AND my first @patternemporium_kate #sashayshorts - i lengthened the shorts about 10 cm and didnt do a hem 🤫 i used the middle width of the pattern, straight size 14. its a wonderful tencel modal fabric thats flowey AF. i think these would be good for ladies that use bikes! don‘t use the slides though, i burned my bum today while sliding but thats a story for another time. the other slides show the @elbe_textiles #triggshorts i made for flo out of the wonderful @lidanistore cotton (i made emerson crop pants out of this fabric and flo got these from the leftovers). 2,5 m of fabric got us two trousers! wohoo!

And here is my husband's spring and summer wardrobe, carefully made with love by me 👩‍❤️‍👨💕 Now I am mostly making clothes for him, as I already made many dresses and tops for me, and do not really need anything more for now (if I sew something for me it's either activewear or something new I just want to try, or simply because I can! 😈). Mateusz needed a whole set of new t-shirts and shorts, especially that they became his everyday pieces of garments here (he refuses to wear jeans and sweatshirts in Australia 😆), and my goal was to create a matching set before our holiday in the beginning of May. The task have been completed successfully! 🎉 Not everything was made recently, but definitely most of what you can see here. And I sewed the leftovers into boxers for my man. These ones are being worn as PJs 😆. I hacked the #triggshorts , eliminating pockets and side seams. I didn’t have enough fabric for a waistband, so I extended the rise and sewed soft elastic on the inside.

I made my favorite sweatpants… until I ruined them 😿 I dyed this sweatshirt fleece and skipped the dye fixative and now I’m paying for it! (Swipe to end) Anyway, I secured some dye fixative and hand righted my wrong, but I’m too traumatized to replace the yellow again so I’m considering buying some black grosgrain ribbon to sew down the seams… open to ideas! It’s a double @ripstopbytheroll kinda day! These cargos are @elbe_textiles #triggshorts lengthened into pants with self drafted cargo pockets. The fabric is 4 way stretch Airwave 5.2oz. It’s so comfortable to wear, and has a beautiful drape! The mini #TT_HoboBag is made with nylon taslan, this fabric does not like to be interfaced so I basted it to one layer of cotton quilt batting before sewing and I love the structure it gives! This fabric is thicker and more stable and is perfect for bag making, there’s also no grid pattern like a lot of ripstop nylon, and honestly she’s giving Prada 💁🏽‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️ there is still one day to apply for testing, the test starts tomorrow and will run for two weeks! The top is ready to wear, but I’ve experimented recreating it, I haven’t cracked the code just yet, but as soon as I do I will make a tutorial!! Sewing challenge. My son is helping out at a charity cricket game today and asked me if I could possibly make him some pink shorts? He was leaving in about half an hour and yes, he needed pockets. Repeat pattern, #triggshorts, for the win. I think it was closer to 40 minutes, but we got there. Fabric is a synthetic blend that I got at a garage sale, to be used for toiles. It didn’t press well, and perhaps after today he will have greater appreciation for the linen ones I make him. He helped out with cutting, and a few pressing steps. Not my best work, and it’s a shame I had black overlocker thread in the machine, because it shows through, but we’re both pretty happy with the completed challenge.

These are view B, lengthen by an extra 2” to emphasise the brunch-wear vibe 😎 I added a faux fly facing for xtra pizazz! Trigg shorts by @elbe_textiles - hands down the best shorts pattern for teens and men. I have made several #triggshorts over the last 5 years or so, but it has been a while since the last pair. The only negative feedback from my husband and teens on previous pairs was that the pockets weren't deep enough. So, while contemplating making the pocket bag pattern pieces deeper, I searched my email for the original pattern and realised that in 2022, the pattern had been re-released with deeper pockets. Can confirm that the more recently released deeper pockets are perfect! These are for my 19-year-old. I used triple straight stitch for the topstitching, which I think looks great - beefier than a regular topstitch in regular thread. Fabric is drill from @spotlightstores and labels, a "made with love" in the perfect pineapple yellow on the side of a back pocket and a "yo mama made it" on the inside centre back, from @kylieandthemachine #imakemyownclothes #elbetextiles #australiasews

I DID THE THING that scared me and can finally check ‘sewing a button down’ off my checklist. And tbh it wasn’t scary at all. I used the @tropicalresearch #trlagunashirt pattern which has beautifully illustrated illustrations, detailed instructions and SO many hacks. The shorts are @elbe_textiles #triggshorts , I’ve been eyeing these for a while and finally caved and they really are the perfect men’s short. I made this set for my brother & there’s definitely more of these shorts in his future (if he’s lucky) — perhaps in a boardshort next time. Fabric was a thrifted bedsheet! The shirt still needs buttons and the shorts need a drawstring, but that didn’t stop me from wearing this outfit out today. NEW MAKE: Another pair of Elbe Textiles #TriggShorts for @crazyflagman, mostly sewn at the inaugural @darlingtonstitchclub yesterday - a terrific community crafting day. I’ve used a fave lightweight denim (cotton slub denim - ‘dark’, it’s our fabric @raches!) that I’ve used many times over the years for Robbie pants, Free Range Slacks, Wiksten jacket, and several other pairs of pants. I decided to do wibbly wobbly double rows of contrast top stitching for a jeans look. This added considerable sewing time but it was a labour of love, after all. Mods made: added 5cm length to the front pockets, added 3cm length to rear pockets, added width to waistband and used a wider elastic. Size G. I’ve used shoe laces knotted together for a drawstring, but I’m contemplating making a drawstring from my scraps instead. I had a marathon sewing session for Christmas gifts. 6 pairs of @elbe_textiles #triggshorts All linen. The brown fabric was purchased for me, but I decided it is a colour I don’t like wearing. The others were all leftovers from other projects, so it was a good stash utilisation exercise as well. 3 in the short length, 3 longer. 3 different sizes.

Holiday day 1 🤍 My body has been changing a lot recently so I spent 5 days sewing a handmade wardrobe for this trip. I made 3 #HoneyGirlTee @paradisepatterns the first of which was in this brown wool jersey from @lyricalfabrics the skirt is self drafted, and is pretty much rectangles tapered to be slightly shorter in the front (let me know if you want a mini tutorial for this one) the leopard rayon Georgette is sold out! My brown suede bag is the #CornwallCrossbody in size small. I have a tutorial on YouTube about the modifications I made to the pattern to work with suede. Christian is wearing #TriggShorts in size D in green mystery linen from the stash, and a #sujunkinthetrunkbag @sew.unsteady in camo twill from eBay. My niece loved her #WavelengthPouch and strutted around in matching crocs. 10/10 recommend, the quickest gift, with so much personality! This Greek food was insanely good. And if you want sushi in soflo you have to go to Miyako Japanese buffet in pompano… all you can eat for $30 🤩

Hey mates, as you may know I am a terrible multi tasker. I've been working on two patterns lately with the intention of releasing them around the same time. BUT I reckon the Smith Hoodie is much closer to completion so I'm going to focus on getting that out, then focus on the crossbody bag/belt! Because I want the latter to be truly unisex, I need to draft 3 separate blocks for different body shapes and I want to make sure I don't rush this 😊 In the meantime, start looking for sweater knits because I think this hoodie will be a pretty sweet Christmas present. New pattern alert! ✨ Elbe Textiles has just released the Solberg Jacket. I really enjoyed sewing this, details like back pleats and understitching give it a crisp and polished feel, but the jacket is still casual enough for lounging at home. I used a cotton drill fabric from @spotlightstores and made view A in size E. The bodice is lengthened 4cm and the sleeves adjusted to be full length. Not planned but Mr Leopard Street's entire outfit here is designed by Lauren 🙂. Shorts are his oldest and most loved pair of #triggshorts in olive linen from @wearethefabricstore.
