Yes, I know I said I wouldn't sew with knits any more but hear me out.
I had a small piece of black merino knit left after making R a couple of t shirts. This was the fabric I purchased when I was in Australia earlier this year...bought from @wearethefabricstore in Brisbane .
I had also spied and fancied the #MSracervest pattern by @modern_sewing_co .
Just enough fabric. I have a seam down the centre back as I had to piece it. I should have trusted the process more. I made the size 16, based on my bust size, and knowing I didn't want it tight and clingy. 'Tried it on' when I had sewn the side and back seams and the armholes seemed too low...so I took the first third of the side seams in a little. Rooky mistake... didn't adjust the armhole binding length and it turned out rather loose and baggy . I've just added a couple of tucks on the front biding, close to the side seam, and, being black, you can't see it. Otherwise it all came together fine. Good drafting and instructions. I'm really pleased with it.
Exposing my bingo wings in public. I'm over any self-consciousness about it . I'm 68 and have the biceps that that brings when you don't spend hours in the gym. I wore my #MMLilan to ##WelshFrocktails25 and no one died of shock. I'm actually just about to start a fitness regime concentrating on strengthening as I've noticed a diminishing in the past 6 - 12 months... I'm not expecting flabby arms to change appearance though ...I just want to be able to open jars and cans!
Also wearing favourite #LanderPants by @truebias ....love this pattern.
