I was afraid the boucle would look like one of the 80s sweaters I used to see a the men’s stores in the mall but think it will be fun with my boots and pencil skirt. I’m so in love with this jumper that I somehow managed to whip up just this morning. I cut the pieces out last night so that I could just focus on sewing today when I had a couple of free hours and managed to complete it in time 😃. I did have a minor set back though after sewing the neckline on backwards 🙈. Luckily it didn’t cause me too much of an issue to trim back and make another. Phew! It was my first Linden sweatshirt and it was so easy to follow (neckline was my own fault 😂) and a pleasure to make! Well done @grainlinestudio I love the raglan sleeves and the wider collar, it’s exactly the type of style I’d look for in the shops. I’m already looking forward to making the next one. MMM Day 2. I was working at home today and was feeling chilly, so cosy and comfortable was the order of the day. The top is a Linden which I have posted previously. (I love the fabric as it never needs ironing!) My trousers are a recent make. They are the Eleonore trousers made with a kit from @guthrieghani. (The video was fab as always).The fabric is a lovely soft stretch fabric and they have a faux fly, a yolk and patch pockets on the back. I think I will go down a size next time (my weight is fluctuating so much at the moment) and probably make the lower legs a little slimmer but they are so comfortable to wear that there will definitely be more! I added 3inches to the rise (😳) and I LOVE where they sit. No wonder RTW are never comfortable on me! 😂 They look rather crumpled now but it’s been a long day! Lockdown attire. Sweatshirt and comfy trousers😁 Made a size 12 in the trousers and can’t believe how well they fit straight off the pattern. The only mod was to add front pockets. I’m not mad about the colour but not a problem. The fabric is a beautiful ponte Roma from #bloomsburysquarefabrics I’ve had them on all day and I’ve been full on cleaning and cooking and I don’t think I’ve had to adjust them once!! Great fit ! Well, I did wear a new dress yesterday but I forgot to photograph it 🙄 So sharing a grainline linden instead that I wore today. This has to be my most made pattern. I rescued this fabric from the remnant bin and was too unsure of how it would sew so it didn't get used for a while. It was actually really simply to sew with, I would recommend using tailors tacks for any markings but otherwise treat it just like any jersey. Fabric was from the lovely @backstitchshop That's it! Jalie eleanore jeggings- so near, yet so far! I made the @jalie_patterns #jalieeleanore trousers which are kind of a mixture between jeans and trousers 👖 . They have a lovely flat elastic waist and are meant for stretchy fabrics so they are sooo comfortable to wear ✂️ There are Lots of nice little features like a faux zip fly and pockets. They also have lots of top stitching to make them look more like standard jeans. The denim ones are my wearable toile made in a bargain stretch denim from @croftmillfabric - It’s deadstock and I thinks it has sold out now but it was perfect for these and I wish I had bought more! 🧵 The tan ones are a lovely stretch velvet from @guthrieghani. Lovely and warm with a good amount of stretch. I had to make quite a few adjustments to this pattern and I’m still not totally happy with the fit. My biggest issue however is that ( yet again) one of the legs in my velvet pair has twisted quite badly. This means that they just don’t sit right 😞. I am honestly at my wits end with leg twisting- no idea why it keeps happening to me 🤷‍♀️ I have watched tutorials and followed instructions but it’s still causing me heart ache. I have asked Santa for a meter rule for Christmas in the hope that this will help 😆. This is another hacked linden jersey top by @grainlinestudio I made for my daughter @scarpickard I’ve actually made two in this striking monotone camo fabric from @fabricgodmother Not strictly a @sewover50 picture but as I have one too I think I can get away with it 😛 Pattern amendments were to cut the front and back with centre seams flare the sides at the hem and curve the hemline up at the front and down at the back.
