🍌It's been a hot minute since I made something silly- and it's also been a hot minute since I made this #poppydress! 🍌I'm pretty sure this was my third time sewing this pattern- but I believe this was the first time with this (much needed) larger cup size. 🍌🍌🍌 The skirt is just an easy peasy pleated skirt with pockets in the side seams. I lowered the back and put the adjustable straps in at a criss-cross. This was *not* my best idea. I get some unfortunate pulls at the side back from the weight on the straps, so they will be moving before my next wear. I am very excited about the vintage ric-rak on the bust! I absolutely love ric-rac and wish it was on everything. It's something that I never pass up when I see it at estate sales or thrift shops. Especially now that there isn't a Joann's right down the street. I wish there was a less CHECK OUT MY RACK way to really show it, but 💁‍♀️ Speaking of- the fabric is from the Pop! collection from Joann's. I bought enough yardage for this dress when they first started doing mark downs. When I went on their last day, I was able to score a full and unopened bolt for about $12! So... more bananas coming! I’ve joined the toile club! Having been a long term member of the no toile club, I now have four toiles on the go! Stress over...I've completed the dress for my friend's wedding despite having no quality time to sew it. Many late evenings have got me slowly but surely to the finish line. I've never made something with a fitted bodice before, but the instructions made it very easy to make adjustments. I made three mock-ups before using the Good Fabric. I even redid several parts, which I normally avoid. 😅 Very proud of the final result. 😊 Pattern: #poppydress by @cinnamondaisystudio Alterations: I used skirt from the #saundraskirt by @hisydgraham instead of the skirt in the pattern, because my fabric has a directional print. Also adjusted the fit of the bodice (see picture). Sizing: was between E and F, but E fitted better.
