My husband and I have been married for 8 years! And for 8 years, he has told me how he had a green sweat suit when he was a childhood and it was his favorite thing ever. So I’ve been on the hunt for green sweatshirt fabric for quite some time and finally got a chance to use this lime green one from Minerva. We analyzed his favorite sweatpants and sweatshirt in our closet and I picked some similar patterns. For the top, I used Seamwork Paxson, it is a unisex pattern for a sweatshirt with raglan sleeves. I had made it previously and had to make some major modifications for it to work well on my shorter arms and torso, but I knew it would be a good fit for his body type. For the pants, I purchased the mens version of the True Bias Hudson Pants. I’ve wanted to try out this pattern because it seems to be a staple in the sewing community that is very popular. I like the jogger style and he likes a more tapered fit on his sweat pants. I was able to make both patterns without any modifications and they fit him well right out of the gate. I really really like this shade of green. It’s a gifted poly cotton, fleece backed sweatshirt material from @minervadotcom. It has sewn up very well and is incredibly soft. My only complaint is that I have washed it 3 times now and it sheds green fuzz from the inside quite a bit. He’s not planning to really wear this out of the house so I don’t mind too much, but I could see that being bothersome depending on your use for this fabric. I tried to source some green ribbing from local stores and I couldn’t find anything that I was happy with. We were planning to settle with black ribbing for the cuffs and waistbands, but ultimately decided to use up some green ribbing scraps and have fun with it. I was batch sewing some Hudson pants yesterday and made myself a pair out of a hunter green sweatshirt fleece remnant I bought from @needlesharpny. It's a super cozy fabric but a little less stretchy than my last pair. I sized up to a size 6 to accommodate less stretch and a growing waistline. Also to accommodate the vaguely visible bump and it's future growth, I made the elastic a little looser than I normally would and omitted the drawstring and elastic topstitching so I can take them in easily post baby. Happy day after Thanksgiving! Anyone out there Black Friday shopping? I considered going out early this am to hit a few places but after cooking for 2+ days & getting up super early yesterday I was tirrreedd. So was my hubby & teen. I love the pajamas at Target, and I bought these because of their lovely color palette and cute print. 🐆💕 Whenever I was wearing them, I would trip over the legs that would get caught in my birks - especially when going down stairs. I had tried tying up the corners, but they always came undone at the worst times! To address this, I tapered the legs and added an ankle band using the #truebiashudson pattern as reference. And I did initially cut the ankle bands double wide because there was more than enough extra fabric from the original to wrap around my ankles twice!! 😅 Now that I've tweaked them, not only are they super comfy, now they are 100x more wearable. #slowerfashion #refashioned

Now I think I need to make some tank tops or muscle tees that will show off the lovely garden haze print and the cute strappy backs. The #truebiashudsonpants took awhile to make because I added these moto hacks to the front thighs and also on the back calves. These 1/4”-wide pleats are an inch apart. I also added zippered welt pockets that angle to the front, which supposedly have a more flattering effect, but I just like the placement for my hands. Me Made May Day 25. We went on a lovely walk to “Horseshoe lake” and had a picnic in the sunshine. The second photo is of the cute ducklings, taken by my daughter. I am wearing my @truebias Hudson pants in a woven fabric. They are made in a viscose fabric and are so comfy and cool to wear in the hot weather. In my work wardrobe, I am very torn between giving in and wearing scrub-like outfits, and my dislike for wearing anything remotely pajama-like in public. I work at a hospital and 90% of my coworkers are in scrubs. But I can’t deal with seeing myself in matching top/bottoms, it just makes me look tired and ready for bed. These joggers are the closest I’ll get, and I’m in LOVE. I’m still figuring out how to style them. (Have you ever searched on Pinterest “how to dress up joggers” and turned up 15 pictures of white women in jean jackets??) I can’t figure out if I want to wear them to hike, brunch, work, ski, gym, dog walk, or the grocery store? All of the above?! They are #hudsonpants with several mods detailed below. I couldn’t find much information about the difference in fit between the women’s and men’s patterns, and already owned the men’s version. It seems the men’s are drafted longer, higher rise, slightly different pocket shape, maybe narrower hip? They fit me great, though I do have fairly straight hips. They are made from dreamy, super warm, thick but lightweight polar fleece. Only broke one needle on my serger! I bought the men’s Hudson pattern and have used it for myself and my male-bodied partner with no fit issues. Here is a little flash back to the first Hudson pants that I made for my husband years ago. The Mens Hudson pattern was drafted from a block with more room in the front crotch, a lower crotch length and a straighter hip. ⁠ #truebias #menshudsonpant
