Sewed this #mininovajumpsuit for A and it turned out really cute! The straps were a bit fiddly but turned out ok… I ended up hand stitching them. We shortened the length of the shorts by an inch.

It’s double digits August already but apparently I’m not done making summer clothes. There are all sorts of gaps in my daughter’s wardrobe, plus a bunch of items that she won’t wear for a cluster of different reasons. The most pressing wardrobe gap was something easy to through on when it’s super hot, possibly over her swimming cossie. . I bought this rainbow jersey via the @destash4palestine platform with no real plan. It’s gorgeous quality. Eventually we landed on the #mininovajumpsuit pattern by @truebias that I already own. Problem is, it only goes up to age 10 and my big one is out of that size range now. The issue was solved by printing out the pattern at 110% scale and cutting the largest size. . My daughter chose the version without elastic, and it came together with ease. The pattern matching at the CF isn’t perfection, but close enough. The fit is a bit wide in the end, but I’m hoping it’ll still work next year. . Mini rant/request: if you’re making #sewingpatternsforkids then PLEASE grade them to larger than an aged 10. There’s still a massive leap between an age 10 garment size and the smaller adult’s sizing, plus the proportions are very different. If all kid’s patterns could go up to an age 14, that would be great please and thank you. . Made this mini Nova Jumpsuit for #1 just before Halloween and then a few months went by and we never put it on him because my husband - rightly - protested that he’d have issues getting it off for the potty (especially in public restrooms!). We put sleeves on under the jumpsuit so he wouldn’t be fully undressing every time. But he loves it and it’s cute as hell and it glows in the dark! 1… 2… 3 @truebias Mini Nova Jumpsuits!!! ❤️ This was a really sweet pattern to make. The girls loved choosing their fabric from @minervadotcom I found the instructions really clear & easy to follow. The only thing I slightly disliked was the centre front seam on the bodice, which meant I had to consider pattern matching (I didn’t fully visualise this for the 1st one I made - short green - but I think it looks ok!) Also, the size range stops age 10 so it’s pretty snug on my oldest girl. In retrospect, I should have lengthened the bodice for her. Birthday gift for my nephew, 🦕🦖🎁🎈🎉 Mini nova jumpsuit pattern by True Bias. The chest part is lined, and there are 2 hidden pockets. 4 options to the pattern, short, long, elasticised waist, loose waist. The pockets took me a little while to work how to do - it was a technique I've not seen before, they are sewn to the front of the jumpsuit. It was an interesting technique and a great result. The second picture shows the stitching on the front of the suit. My first time sewing with stretch fabric This is a jersey stretch from spotlight. I added the chest pocket, my nephew loves putting things in his pockets I used decorative leaf stitching for the hems. I’m celebrating the sudden appearance of summer by making a few items for my little girl. All her leggings are holey and looking pretty ratty, and I remembered that I bought the #mininovajumpsuit pattern by @truebias last year. Good job I remembered because even tho Lola is 7yo, she currently fits the second from last size for this pattern. . I made it using some lovely floral ponte roma, kindly given to me by @naidasloves when she was having a clear out (thanks again Naida!). It’s a lighter weight ponte so just about suitable for this pattern, although I decided to omit the waist elastic that Lola would have preferred in case it was too bulky. I’ve given the rest of the fabric to my mum to make herself a Mandy boat tee. The top part of this jumpsuit is lined so this has actually turned out quite warm. It could easily be worn as dungarees with a long sleeved t-shirt underneath. . This project was a bit of a palette cleanser after my most recent projects that were pretty intensive (my Lander pants and Vali top), and most of it was put together using my overlocker. .
