Some recent makes in no particular order: 1) Teia dress in gorgeous red viscose crepe. The fabric has a bit too much drop and doesn’t float like it could, but it’s super comfy. I removed the front seam as I couldn’t see the point in disrupting the lovely roses print, and if making it again I’d forget the shoulder ties I think (or at least start them lower on the bodice pieces) as it’s hard to tie them without curling the bodice @patternfantastique #teiadress 2) Josephina Top in Liberty fabric. This was a beautiful make and I’ll definitely make some more versions. I like to finish things by hand so it was slow, but worth it #milaonni_josephina @milaonnipatterns 3) Style Arc Bonnie top- in repurposed linen from a very nice tablecloth which we never use. Again I hand finished all the facings so it took a while. Also reduced the number of buttons and had to fit it through the shoulders #sabonnie @stylearc 4) Cascade Skirt by @megannielsenpatterns in super romantic roses georgette. I hand stitched the hem, which I do regret a little bit as it took an enormous amount of time! This one looks better on the body than it does on the hanger #MNcascade 5) Ash Top. I’m a sucker for pintucks and little details. I had to change this quite a bit to get it to fit, and I put in a tie at the back, but I’m happy with it #FabricsStoreAshPattern 6) Style Arc Bob trousers- yes another pair. The checks don’t match as I had to dovetail the pattern pieces to squeeze it all out of some very narrow crinkle cotton, but again I can live with that. Super light and comfy- it won’t be the last pair of Bobs I make #sabobpants @stylearc 7) Waistcoat Top. I started with a free pattern for a waistcoat, but ended up redrafting it completely (and all the facings and lining 🫠) and changing the style lines (it’s got princess seams now). Pleased to be able to re-use these antique buttons another time.

An oldie but goodie skirt pattern. The cascade skirt by Megan Nielsen was one of my first sewing projects years back, in the early days of my sewing hobby. I remember the poor fabric choices at that time, having used polyester for one and quilting cotton for another. Both skirts have been banished from my closet long ago. This latest make using Nerida Hansen cotton sateen is a wonderful choice. Excellent drape while retaining a light structure, the skirt holds its shape without losing the cascades. I added pockets and ribbons for some modesty. Also french seams and used bias binding for the hem. Holly recently learned about this hemming technique to create baby hems/ rolled hems, and her mind was blown! And you know what? Its perfect for your Cascade skirts made in lightweight fabrics! Without further ado, the top is finished, and the outfit is complete! I'm also excited to show the outfit on! I'll admit, it's a little nerve-wracking modeling my makes. They're not perfect, but that's what makes them unique. I'm also incredibly proud of how much I've learned in the past year and half. Now for the outfit, the Pavonia top has been on my list for a while. I love the delicate back details and double strap look. The pattern was easy to follow and and looking forward to making the dress version. I paired the top with the Cascade skirt. I'm a fan of the subtle high-low design. It's the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. ☀️ The fabric is from one of my favorite brands Atelier Brunette, who I discovered through their online shop. The name of the game is flowy skirts!! Ok it’s not really the name of the game but it’s what I’ve been drawn to for #projectsewit ‘s July’s skirt challenge. I’m thinking something lightweight like a chambray or a rayon would be perfect for the heat that we’re all of a sudden finally getting here! Clockwise from top left: This pleat hack for the #sarahskirt from @hello.workshop has me swooning. I don’t usually got for pleats but I feel like these are cute and flowery and would make for a versatile wardrobe staple. The #estuaryskirt from @sewliberated has been on my list of patterns I’ve wanted to sew for a long while!!! Love the fact that it has pockets. The #cleoskirt from @madebyrae is a cute basic, with an elastic back, which reminds me of some skirts I used to have that I loved wearing.
