I liked the @MeganNielsenPatterns #mnEucalyptDress so much, I made 3!! I made a size 10, graded to a 6 at the hips, shortened the front and back straps 7/8 inch and, on the black one, lowered the neck about an inch. I also added patch pockets to the 2nd and 3rd versions, I added them approximately 15 inches down from center front and 2.5 inches either side of the CF seam. I much prefer to wear a simple dress in hot weather than shorts and a t-shirt so these will fill out my summer wardrobe perfectly. Fabric (left to right) all purchased from @OurSocialFabric 1. Linen dress weight in navy and taupe 2. Double-sided cotton print, selvedges stamped KWA Mtapuna, navy and orange 3. I’m always happy to ring in the new year with reflections of intentions and goals! 🎉 This year I’m trying to remain realistic with my makenine2020 since my most important make of the year is taking lots of my energy! 👶🏻 As such, I am including a project I’ve had on hold and I’d like to finish, a project I’d like to mend and of course my most precious make in square number nine! . . 1️⃣This year will mark 25 years since I learned to knit, and yet, I have NEVER knit myself a sweater. 😳This is the year! I picked up some beautiful heathered wool at @needleemporium during their boxing week sale and have casted on @dreareneeknits #weekendersweater. I’m also taking this super simple knit to practice my #continentalknitting skills in the hopes of speeding up my projects. 🐑🐑🐑 2️⃣Should I manage to squeeze in a second sweater for myself, I’ve been dying to try @tincanknits #lovenotesweater . I was gifted a gorgeous @madelinetosh fingering weight yarn by my mama last birthday and will pair it with an alpaca lace I have ordered from @knitstitchstratford . I hear it knits up quickly, so here’s hoping! 🤞 3️⃣ I have the @sewnorth #cedarsweater pattern and sweatshirt fleece from @blackbirdfabrics already purchased and a maternity hack in mind for a great layering piece that will hopefully work with my growing belly and then afterword for nursing. 🤱 4️⃣ I have cut some beautiful @riflepaperco canvas for an #idaclutch by @kylieandthemachine and must finish it! I made the #mneucalypt @megannielsenpatterns out of this gorgeous reversible sequin (champagne and gold) fabric from @pitttrading #pitttradingmakes for #sydneyfrocktails2022 I individually removed each sequin from the seam allowance to avoid breaking needles. That was a painful process. When bagging out the lining, the sequins cut into the shoulder straps and damaged them (see picture 2).
