I bought this very special @libertylondon fabric on my first fabric shopping trip, but wanted to wait til I was a bit more confident in my skill set to use it! I didn’t wait that long tho 😅 this was the third dress I made (in March 2024), and I used the @roseryapparel Pansy pattern. The dark floral with long sleeves makes this a perfect dress to pair with tights and boots in the winter, and the closure is a tie at the back so it was my first time making and attaching bias binding. Just last month I decided I wanted this dress to have a bit more shape when wearing it without a belt so I altered it to put some back darts in. Is this pattern an easy sew? Absolutely. Did it take me 2.5 years to finish anyway? Yes. Have I worn it every second day since I made it? Of course. I originally cut out the @roseryapparel #pansydress when I was heavily pregnant in 2023. I lost a lot of motivation with sewing while pregnant, because it felt like between spewing, working and growing extra bones, by the time I finished a garment, the juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze. But I convinced myself that if I just cut the pansy out in the largest possible size, it would fit the rest of my pregnancy. I finished the dress, popped it on and felt like the personification of a circus tent ~ tre la chic~~~ Last week she was rescued from the WIP pile, and trimmed down to a more suitable size. And wah la - chef's kiss 😘 👌(seamstress kiss???) The dryer has done me dirty on the length, but cool mums wear dresses that don't pass the finger tips test to day care drop off alright????? Thinking I'll attempt some matching bloomers. Should I go for a full shirred shorties vibe? Or like a red loose boxer shorts sitch? Thoughts? 🤔🤔

A rather regal location for showing off my latest dressmaking project. I was lucky enough to visit the Royal School of Needlework this week at the beautiful Hampton Court Palace. You can find out more on my YouTube channel next week but for now let’s talk about this dress! I decided I needed a lovely neutral gingham to add to my wardrobe. The perfect fabric for all year round. It’s being worn at the moment with jumpers on top and leggings underneath but it’ll be swapped for sandals in the summer and rust coloured cardis in the autumn. Wore my first #madebyme dress yesterday! Was a challenge with chronic illness. My fancy #pansydress by @roseryapparel This lovely emerald green stardust fabric by @atelierbrunette was in my stash for a long time and I knew I had to make something festive from it! I had finished just few hours before we left for friend’s open-air summer wedding, and I very much enjoyed wearing them even though they are long and it was very hot! Double gauze is such a good material for summer!I wore them to opera, another friends wedding, birthday dinnner during holidays and they were allowed even to a mosque too!And emerald green became my favourite colour💚

Le patron taille plutôt petit si on a une forte poitrine ou si on est grande (je mesure 1m74), donc des ajustements peuvent être nécessaires. J’ai modifié l'encolure et allongé le buste de 5 cm. Voici ma deuxième version, réalisée dans une gabardine de coton bleu clair imprimée de petites oies. J’ai cousu la taille 22, sans modifications et sans doublure. Pansy Dress details ✨ Not gonna lie, this dress tested me. I started it after had done a bunch of gift sewing for Christmas. I really should have taken a break but I jumped in anyways. I was so drawn to this fabric when it was released because I’m a sucker for gingham. Red and purple aren’t usually colors I gravitate toward but I decided to give it a shot because this fabric by @fableism was just too good for me not to add to my wardrobe. I had trouble with lining up the directional print on specific pieces of the pattern as I haven’t worked with much directional fabric before. The bust darts don’t line up, are puckered, and I could have probably sized down. The pattern by @roseryapparel is one I’ve wanted to make for ages. It was straight forward, detailed, and there’s even a YouTube tutorial for it! The tie and keyhole details on the back are cute details I hadn’t yet made before. Now that it’s finished I’m not sure how much I’ll wear it since I’m more of a neutral/earth toned girl but I can imagine wearing this more during the holidays. Or I’ll wear it with a neutrally colored sweater or cardigan to tone it down a bit. And of course I couldn’t forget a cute label. Beautiful Grace ,wearing the outfit I made her before she was born. She was supposed to be very small so I made the up to one month size of the #soipansydress. Beautiful Grace ,wearing the outfit I made her before she was born. She was supposed to be very small so I made the up to one month size of the #soipansydress. Amazingly it still fits and she’s about 9 weeks old now. I’m very pleased with how it looks but the sleeves are a bit long so need to think how to address this for the next one as I don’t like them rolled up showing the underside of the fabric. My first attempt at Childrenswear and I LOVE how much quicker it is than making full-sized garments - and fitting is much less complicated (at least when jersey is involved) I made these two dresses for my God daughter, who turns 2 next week. I used the Pansy dress pattern from @poppyandjazz in the 2-3 years size range. Really lovely little pattern and very easy to follow and make. I used pink animal jersey from @minervadotcom for one, and the magical colour change leopard print jersey from @dalston.mill.fabrics for the other. Both nice stable jerseys to sew with, with decent stretch and recovery. I finished them off with labels from @little.rosy.cheeks - such cute little labels. I decided I had to take a break from sewing clothes for myself as otherwise I don't think I will have enough wardrobe space by the end of this pandemic! A pair of Pansies! I participated in the Pansy Dress Sewalong with Lisa Comfort today! After about ten minutes sewing live with Lisa, I had to pause...she is a speedy sewist! I just carried on at my pace and it was lovely! My first go at a neckband on a knit dress...took a couple tries, but I got it!
