Do you believe in miracles?! I made a cardigan. With jersey knit. Inspired by a screenshot I took years ago, actually remembered existed, and was able to find in the depths of my phone. Being a jersey knit newbie, it kind of looks homemade - but it’s wearable and suuuuper comfy! I originally added the patch pockets but this fabric was not amenable and they were absurdly droopy. I took them off part way through the day and I’m just crossing my fingers that the stitch lines will disappear with another wash. . 매일 밤. 날개옷 만들어 하늘로 올라갈 날만을 기다리는 선녀처럼. 그렇게 뜨개를 했어요. 마리왈린 여사의 뜨개옷은 귀한 명품처럼 입을 수 있는 니트임을 알기에 한땀한땀 정성을 다해 뜨긴했는데 맘처럼 예쁜코가 안나와서 속상하기도 했고요. 스팀을 주면 어느정도 구멍난 가슴을 메워줄거라 기대합니다. 뜨다보니 도안에 오류도 있고요.(차트) 무늬도 스몰사이즈 위주라 저는 미듐을 뜨고 있는데 무늬 맞춰보겠다고 뒷판에 구멍난 부분도 있어요.(무늬안맞음) 요즘 부드러운 편물 만들기 훈련중이라 그런지 미듐이 라지 사이즈 만큼 커진것 같아요. 보통의 체격이라면 스몰사이즈 추천합니다. 도안에 보면 가로배색과 세로배색(페어아일,인따르시아)를 잘 섞어서 하시오. 라고 되어 있어요. 그래서 스틱안되고요. 저는 앞뒷판 붙여서 뜨다가 암홀에서 분리해줬습니다. 소매는 스트라이프라.. 원통으로 떠도 되긴 할것 같은데.. 스트라이프이기 때문에 원통으로 안뜰것 같아요. 나름 어깨경사가 있어요. (3단) 도안에는 코를 다 막아마무리 하는데 저는 코를 살려두었어요. 앞판 어깨뜨고 어깨 이어주고 소매뜨고 앞단 떠주고..하면 끝인데. 이번주에도 다 안끝날것 같아요. 다양한 컬러의 무늬 덕분에 재밌어요. This was an adventurous knit! I knit it in the round with steeks. The body bands were 3-4 colors in most rows! Ladderback jacquard was used in the lighter bands when dark colors were carried. Happy #pride 🏳️‍🌈🥳 I was at the #viennaPride2023 yesterday, and I had the most amazing day with amazing people 🥰 . Of course, I had to make my own outfit, and in the last weeks, when I saw @mmadalynne and her pride collection, I felt so inspired that I had to make my own version of her #tonikaBralette 🏳️‍🌈❤️ . I knew the materials wouldn't arrive in time if I had ordered them from her, so I took out my #embroideryMachine and made my own rainbow heart patches. The bralette itself is made from powernet, and that way everything stays where it should be - even while dancing on a parade 😄 it's honestly really comfortable so I will probably make more, maybe in a version more suitable for everyday wear 😋 . I also spontaneously made these faux leather shorts, and the #mapleCardigan by @peachpatterns is from the last years already. 🪡🧵#memade Sunday with Harper 🧵🪡 today we had our NCT reunion so our #memadewardrobe was raided! Me in my @chalkandnotch #chalkandnotchfringe and Harper in her @poppyandjazz #maplecardigan Doing NCT classes really was the best thing we ever did, the group of people we met that I now turn to for support most days has saved me on many occasions. I am EXHAUSTED and I don’t have a clue when I will be able to get back to my sewing machine but it will happen at some point. I’m taking each day as it comes, sometimes hour by hour and that is good enough for now. I don’t really recognise myself at the moment but I’m figuring it out with Harper and if nothing else, learning all these new nursery rhymes is wild 😂 It’s really hard and there are times when I’m in tears full of guilt at thinking how hard this is when I know full well what others would give to have a baby. We do also have such great days, real highs and moments, they are really special. I guess I just feel quite vulnerable and exposed at the moment, it’s daunting being out in public and not being able to feed your baby properly. I’m learning so much about Harper, she’s doing so well with her oral function and body stretch exercises and we are confident her mouth/tongue will be strong enough to be treated for tongue tie in a few weeks. We’re also starting cranial osteopath sessions this week so I hope we’re giving her everything she needs to become more comfortable, strong and happy. All of this is being funded privately, I have a huge issue with that but I’m too knackered to fight it. I just want to be able to give Harper what she needs and I’m thankful we can pay for it when so many are having to choose between food, heating or having their lights on. I’ve had support from where I didn’t expect it and massively let down by others. As with anything, we learn, process and move on. I’m on a roll with finishing projects! I have had this #maplecardigan by @poppyandjazz cut out for weeks. It’s made in cable cloche fabric, but I can’t remember where I got it from. I used most of the fabric to make myself a Southbank sweater a couple of years ago. To say that my sewing machine and overlocker hated this fabric is an understatement! The tiny cuffs nearly broke us all 😡I do hope it fits after all that trauma!

. 안녕하세요. 마노메이드입니다. 어젯밤. 대통령 계엄령과 함께 소매를 마무리 했습니다. 아주 역사적인 날이 되버렸네요. 할머니가 되서 이 가디건을 입을때마다 해줄 얘깃거리가 생겼습니다. #메이플가디건 은 마리왈린 여사의 작품이고요. 마리왈린의 베싸를 떠본 경험이 있어서 사이즈를 미듐으로 정했고요. 뜨면서 좀 큰것 같다 어쩌구 저쩌구 저를 또 과소(?)평가해버렸는데요 역시 그냥 딱 맞는 미듐이 나왔습니다. 고무단이 12cm에요. 저의 똥배 존재감이 드러나는 디자인이죠. 그래도 단추를 잠그고 입는 편이 더 예쁜것 같아요. 베싸가디건도 늘 단추를 잠그고 입고 다녀요. #로완펠티드 실은 처음 써봤는데, 의외로 도톰합니다. 배색에 걸맞게 펠팅이 잘 되어서 메리야스가 참 이쁘게 잘 나와요. 문제는. 배색인데 이 가디건에 들어가는 무늬들이 뭔가 거시기 합니다. 세로배색으로 떠야 하고요. 꽃과 잎, 줄기의 모양이라 난데없이 한코 배색이 들어가기도 하고요. 그래서 처음 무늬 뜨는 부분에서는 코를 빼기도 했어요. 뜨면서 요령이 좀 생기더라고요. 다음에 또 뜨면 엄청 잘 할것 같아요 ㅎ 뜨기전 마음의 갈피를 못정할때 외국언니들이 뜬걸 찾아봤는데 완벽한 인따르시아로 떴더라고요. 저는 도저히 그럴자신이 없어서 바탕실은 가로배색으로 넣었어요. 그래서 좀 경계가 미어지는 경우가 있습니다. 이럴때 실정리를 잘 하면 없앨 수 있는데 그것마저 도저히 못하겠더라고요. 실 받은지도 오래되고 함께하는 #앤스멋니터 분들은 벌써 작품 완성해서 다음거 들어가신 분들이 많은데 빨리 마무리 해야겠다는 생각도 있었어요. 스트레스 받는 일도 좀 있었고 뜨개할 시간도 없었고.. 구구절절 사연이 길지요? 배색 좋아하시는 분들 꼭 떠보시길 바래요. 재밌습니다. 이거 한번 떠보니까 가로배색은 완전 껌씹듯 할 수 있을것 같은 자신감이 생겼어요. 실 양은 제가 워낙 풀렀다 다시 떴다를 반복해서 버려지는 것들도 있어서 모자르면 어쩌지 싶어 끊어진 실들을 다시 접착하기도 하고 별짓(?)을 다하면서 떴는데, 결론은 충분합니다.(다 남았어요) 완성하고 입어봤는데 남편의 첫마디가 고급지다~ 였어요. . ▪️yarn : #rowanfeltedtweed @ann.knitting ▪️tool : #chiaogoobamboo 2.75mm, 3.25mm ▪️size : M ▪️pattern : #maplecardigan @ann.knitting . #뜨개질 #뜨개그램 #앤스멋니터 #with뜨앤 #with_THANN #마노메이드#배색가디건

@thebigsewoff I was so inspired by how the sewing community jumped on this amazing event and I wanted to join in in my own little way. I couldn't make it to any of the hubs on Monday, or pledge to sewing through the night, but I decided I would sew something to donate to @giveyourbest.uk as well as making a donation to @mindcharity . I dug out my remnants and found 3 biggish blue jersey pieces. I had this baby cardigan pattern already traced out in size 3-6 months and with some careful cutting and a bit of piecing I was able to cut out 4 cardigans. I have been batch sewing over the last few days and they have come together beautifully (and adorably). The finishing touch was these lovely labels designed specially for the event (and with all proceeds going to Mind). I shall list them all on Give Your Best, an online clothes bank for women in severe need, and hope they go to homes where they will be well used. Last time I checked The Big Sew off has smashed its total to fundraise for Mind. The Just Giving page is open for a few more days if you are able to give anything. Swipe for close up Material is a fleece knit sweatshirt fabric from @minervadotcom. Size is age 2-3 years. Made as per pattern instructions except I substituted the poppers for buttons. I had a piece left in my offcut drawer after making my Billie sweatshirt and it was the perfect size (with a bit of creative cutting) for this. 🐢🐟🐠🦈 we went to the #hausDesMeeres yesterday - the house of the sea - in Vienna. We have a friend here over the weekend and it was so rainy yesterday. So we decided to visit the aquarium and it was so great 🤩 . Also I finally got to wear this memade outfit, that I made some weeks ago: the #sewingMachinaUwe by @sewingmachina and the #mapleCardigan by @peachpatterns combined with a linen skirt that I drafted myself. I’ve made a bunch of baby clothes and I hardly ever post them. But actually when I was looking for patterns when I was pregnant I found it really hard to know what would work for a baby and what wouldn’t. We have had some big hits and some misses. One hit has been the @poppyandjazz #soimaplecardigan which doesn’t seem to be big on insta but which has been a big hit over summers for me. I’ve made this in a 0-3 and a 9-12 month size and both have been great. It’s a lovely quick pattern that actually is super useful. It was mummy and me cardigan this time round. The perfect little autumn cardigan for the both of us! I used the Marlo cardigan pattern and Lily used the Maple cardigan pattern. I think there will definitely be more use for both patterns in the future! The maple was super quick, easy and straightforward to make because the size of the garment is only so small. The Marlo was a lot more tricky to work with due to the stretch of the fabric coupled with the much larger size of the pattern. I had to interface the entire neck band instead of just interfacing the section where the buttons are, then I had to add a 1.5" wide elastic to the inside of the cuff because it would stretch so much that it won't stay over my elbow when I pull up the sleeves. Another @poppyandjazz @sewoveritlondon Maple Cardi. Also 9-12 months in a thicker fabric from @1stforfabrics . It’s super cute and I have more of this in olive green for another. As per my previous post, love this pattern, highly recommend. You can see again the slightly cropped length of it her but it’s a great layer to chuck on. When you are the only person you know that makes baby quilts... You make your own, no waiting for gift quilts here 😆. I reckon I made at least 2 dozen baby quilts as gifts for family and friends over the years. Can't believe I get to make one for my own baby one day. I'm planning on making a bunch of them so Little Miss can pick and choose which one she wants to use when she is a bit older. The first one I made her is this Hungry Caterpillar quilt. I like the prints because we can point to the food or the colour as part of her language learning. I'm also planning on adding felt veggies to the collection for the same educational learning. Of course there will be opportunities for learning the names of the veggies in real life in the garden, but during winter when it's cold and not much is growing, I think felt veggies are great alternatives. 🧵 Pattern: #soimaplecardigan by @sewoveritlondon in size 3 months to 6 months.
