Friday afternoon and evening at the Sewcial Retreat and I managed to complete the construction of a new Libby blouse from Sew Over It. I used this lovely cotton from Lewis & Irene and to make sure I remembered which print it was have stitched a strip of the selvedge under my own makers label. This is my version 7 of the pattern but I still tremble when I have to make the collar with its half collar stand. I think it is time to try some new blouse patterns. ✨(Accidentally) perfect ✨ The hours spent in cutting out the pattern pieces paid off, as you can see the floral print is soo symmetrical 🥹 There was also a pleasant surprise: I accidentally made the top buttonhole too small for the intended button (despite multiple trial runs 😅) which is wooden and features tiny yellow flowers on navy background. I'm always pleased to make a new pattern by Sarah May @frenchnavynow_ and these #thexaneleshorts are no exception. . . They really are perfect for walking, gardening, having a siesta (well it is July in Spain) and climbing mountains - if you read about the muse for these shorts. The pattern is easy to make with excellent diagrams. Sarah gave me the pattern to try out with no obligation to share, but I've made these and two pairs for friends. They are great for using up small remnants. Mine are made in a cotton sateen I had hanging about, but I want to make more in a less shiny fabric and with belt loops. Swipe for side and back view. . .
