[#Ad] The @sewoveritlondon Charlotte dress has been one of my solid favourite work dresses for a few years, but sadly neither of my other versions fit me anymore. . So when @minervadotcom offered me some of their new exclusive design crepe back satin, I knew I needed a new Charlotte in my life! . This fabric is seriously luxe, some might say it’s more suitable for a formal event like a wedding guest dress than a work dress, but I don’t care, I think it works! The satin is super glossy and smooth, but be careful as it snags quite easily - I managed to snag a run in the skirt which I didn’t notice until it was already constructed, I’m sure it’s only me that will know about it though. . This fabric is definitely a good medium weight, but it has lovely drape and moves so beautifully! . I’m so excited to have a wearable Charlotte back in my wardrobe! In October I selected some complimentary fabrics from my cabinet and made a plan for each of them. The fabrics were also selected because they can be worn with other things in my wardrobe. I have loved the @sewoveritlondon Charlotte dress since first coming across the pattern a couple of years ago but had not made it - until now. I love the neckline and the vintage-inspired silhouette. When @harmerandhuff invited me to sew with one of their fabrics I decided to make Charlotte and it has turned out to be a completely gorgeous dress. Harmer and Huff have a lovely range of fabrics, making my choice quite difficult! I settled on plum antique wash linen for this project. This fabric is really beautiful and linen is so easy to sew with. Charlotte has darts and pleats and a zip so it was great to use a fabric that ‘behaved’. I put the green zipper in to break up the dark fabric. This is a size 12 and it is too big. I'm going to make it again in an 8 and 10 combined. I made this dress three years ago to wear to a funeral. When we asked Jeanette to work with us on a project, we knew it would be amazing, but this dress is really next level.⁠ ⁠ Jeanette made the Sew Over it London Charlotte dress with our Antique Wash linen in plum. This colour is really having a moment right now and it looks truly fabulous on.⁠ ⁠ This linen is a great all-use weight at 185gsm and we can only image the swish this skirt will have. The #soisurayajacket in some sort of dark red twill or gabardine as I am persistently behind trend and now want some sort of mac… (see also gingham) 8. Basically a copy of @kateevadesigns #riflepaperco #shelbydressandromper from @truebias in the strawberry fields rayon from @sistermintaka 9. Wearing to see James Taylor and Jackson Browne with my parents!!!!! I hemmed by hand and did a concealed zip with a concealed zip foot for the first time. The inner waist band is hand sewn and worked well!

Me made may day 30. Today is mother's day in Sweden and we celebrated that and my mother-in- law's birthday this afternoon and I wore my new Sew Over It Charlotte dress! (Sewed the hem this morning) Isn't it pretty and perfect?! I was the runner up in #sewoverit10 and my price was 3 (!) pdf-patterns from @sewoveritlondon. First thing I printed was #soicharlottedress and I've been sewing it every chance I got the last couple of days. I've also finished a couple of other things and we've started on my daughter's last-day-of-school dress. . Fabric: I used my washed crinkled cotton from @stofdepotet I showed you in story's last month. I think it worked out perfect for the Charlotte. . I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but that deserves a hole square by it self, it's sooo pretty! It's french seams and Hong Kong seams and slip stitching. Finished this @sewoveritlondon Charlotte dress last summer as we were heading back into the world a bit more. I really wanted some glamour in my life after donning work from home ensembles for so long. I made this as a wearable toile in a heavier turquoise linen that I found on super sale. Sommetider forelsker man sig fuldstændigt i noget stof og må overgive sig til skørter med swing. Jeg har tidligere syet Charlotte fra @sewoveritlondon i bomuld med lidt mere hold, så at se den syet op I en blød blød viskose gav et helt andet udtryk. And onto the next... I'd heard that the #soicharlottedress was fairly roomy so I decided to make a toile in my size (according to measurements) before doing my usual full bust adjustment. I was a bit wary about the idea of a dolmen sleeve as I usually have excess fabric between the bust point and armscye and didn't know if this would just look rificulous. It did pull oddly, but as you see here, removing a couple of inches off the sleeve length goes a long way to reducing that. I figured that I could always make it sleeveless. I think I'll take an extra inch off and cut it straight down into the side seam as it still puckers a bit where the seam curves out under the arm. Overall it's a fairly relaxed but ok fit without any other serious adjustments, just the usual half inch to take out of the crossover at the centre and only needing half of the waistband width. #shorttorso I'm tempted to make this one size down as I prefer a more fitted finished garment (I love boxy and geometric cuts on slim figures but it doesn't do my curvy bod any favours; I always feel better in a more tailored shape.) I'm also thinking of stopping the zip just above my bra line, about where that pin is, to allow a bit more breathability in our hot and humid Brisbane weather. #memadewardrobe #memade #toile #nofba #oops_i_over_dressed_again

✨Charlotte✨ . J'adore les patrons anglais et américains car leur gamme de taille me convient bien mieux, en particulier dans la prise en compte des bonnets dans le tour de poitrine. . Ce patron de @sewoveritlondon est mon préféré, je trouve cette robe avantageuse et confortable, tout en ayant ce côté vintage que j'aime chez cette marque. . Elle est confortable grâce au jersey crêpe que j'ai utilisé, il vient de chez @tissuslolieshop (il date de l'an passé) et qui dit jersey dit ... pas de zip 😄 (ça fait 2 fois cette année, je vais lancer un concept 😂). . Petite modif : mon tissu étant assez lourd et structuré, j'ai simplifié le devant de la jupe normalement en 2 parties superposées. J'ai coupé 2 fois le dos au pli, et cela m'a fait économisé presque 1m de tissu (ma fille a repéré le coupon dans la boîte de chutes... ) . J'ai d'autres robes de cette marque dans ma patrontheque à essayer, j'ai un coupon de viscose acheté pour une robe penny, mais j'ai bien envie d'une deuxième Charlotte quand je vois ces photos 😅. .
