I made the @sewoveritlondon Rosie Dress in this gorgeous linen ramie. It was my first time using ramie and I'll definitely use it again. Lots to get your teeth into with this pattern, including a lined, boned bodice. I also chose to add a waist stay (swipe to see). The Rosie Dress (hack)! This skirt has been sitting in my cupboard since I made it (I’m really not a skirt person). I was tidying my stash when I found the rest of the fabric and I had this sudden urge to sew a coordinating top immediately. I used the @sewoveritlondon Rosie dress bodice and cropped it, and hacked the back panels to have long triangles that could be tied into a bow. It was a very speedy satisfying sew, and now I feel I have a whole new outfit and the skirt will get the wears it deserves. I’ve made three dresses for the wedding 🙈, and this is the first of them. I used the Rose cafe bustier with a full circle skirt in a cream #waxprint from @middlesex.textiles I paired it with my #audreyjacket that I have temporarily adorned with pearl details and a veil from left over tulle 🤍 My second dress of the weekend was an oldie, but a goodie! The sweet wrapper dress - a #soirosiedress bodice with a pleated high-low hem circle skirt in a foiled wax print (again from Middlesex textiles!). I made this dress for a birthday party many moons ago, so it was fab to give her another spin! I cannot wait to share the final two dresses with you. Only two weeks to go 👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏽‍♂️👏🏼

Have made excellent progress on my wool crop top and mini skirt matching set project. I’m using the @sewoveritlondon Rosie dress for the crop top. Many thanks to the kind follower who let me know that her Rosie dress project turned out too big—after reading that feedback, I went back in time on my own Instagram feed and, sure enough, I also took mine in about 2 inches. This saved me so much time on a (lined!) bodice that has 6 seams 😅 (when I take in a bodice, I generally try to spread out the amount amongst all the seams.) The only snag now is that my straps are a little too long. Very unusual for me—I frequently need my straps longer in patterns. 🤔 Unfortunately, I have already stitched and understitched the top seam of the bodice and lining (strap sandwiched in between), so a little unpicking in order, but it’s coming along! After that, I’ll trim to my desired crop top length, insert the zip, and hem, and then I can move on to the matching mini skirt. — #soirosiedress

I am making the most of the September sun in a @SewOverItLondon Rosie Dress that I made back in July. I have found there are a few summer dresses that were neglected in my summer wardrobe. I think this was mostly because we didn't have sunshine and warmth for all of the summer. This dress was one of those summer dresses you finish and the rain and cooler air comes in! I finally got to wear it and I am very glad I had a little light polycotton summer dress to wear in today's heat. The fabric is from @poundfabrics and I bought it last year. I really love a ditsy floral print and how you get splashes of colour across the fabric. Although it is a polycotton the quality of the fabric is lovely and is nice to wear on a warm day. The dress is the Rosie Dress with the wider straps. I didn't make any adjustments. It is slightly tight in the bodice, but that might just be the weather making everything you wear feel slightly uncomfortable...or is that just me?! I hope you have enjoyed the sunny weather! It feels odd planning autumn makes and my wardrobe change around when it's so warm! I’m finally getting around to sharing this project here! ✨ This is a dress I made for two friends’ wedding back in March and it was so much fun to wear and dance in. The bodice is from the @sewoveritlondon Rosie dress lengthened 1.5 cm at the waist and the skirt from the Sew Over it Kate dress, lengthened about 20 cm. I made this in the Leia Cobalt Blue viscose by @mindthemaker , lined the bodice with a black viscose from my stash, underlined the bodice with silk organza, and added boning to the bodice seams in channels created with the silk organza bodice seam allowances. . 🎥 To see this dress in more detail and movement, check out the project vlog I created all about it on my YouTube channel (link in the bio)! . 🇫🇷 J’ai enfin trouvé du temps pour partager ce projet ici ✨ ! 🌹Rosie x Kim🌹 Well it’s been a while hasn’t it ? Not that I haven’t been sewing or knitting since 2023 started (more on that later) but life got a bit busy with a wedding to organize 🎉 I’m planning (honestly at this point in the timeline *have to*) to make my wedding dress and this mashup of the #bhlKimDress bodice and #soiRosieDress skirt is the first iteration of the process. It was finished in February but the summery nature of it meant that I was only able to make its first outing today:) I’m relatively happy with the fit (except for the strap length which has been modified in later versions (currently at v3 👀)) and just in love with the neckline. Pattern: Kim dress (@byhandlondon) bodice in size 14 and Rosie skirt (@sewoveritlondon) in size 12, I modified where the pleat is to match with the bodice and added inseam pockets. Fabric: cotton lawn bought at @sewoveritlondon last year, very in love with the Toile de Jouy aspect of it. Happy Christmas! I love getting super dressed up on Christmas day. Today is all about pjs though. But I'll be rewearing this again tonight! * * Fabric @riflepaperco cotton from @sistermintaka in the black Friday sales. Pattern @sewoveritlondon #rosiedress Hacks - omitted the boning, and used bias binding to finish the bodice top. I added a horizontal stitch to the straps to create... interest? I like it. Skirt is rectangle with front pleat and gathers. Same shape as Rosie but the pattern piece didn't fit. Paired with an under skirt to give a stronger a line shape. Time: Cut and sewed this on weds and Thurs night.
