Made some #SOIKnickers this weekend! 🥰 It was a really quick and easy sew, and great for all those woven fabric scraps! Unfortunately, the rolled hem is pretty inconsistent all around. I had some cotton lawn left over from my #soipennydress, so rather than stuffing it in my scrap bag and forgetting about it, I used it to make the #soiknickers. They are not perfect, I found the elastic part a little fiddly but I have another pair ready to sew up so hoping those turn out a little neater. This evening I made some pants! (Knickers) I used the pdf pattern from @sewoveritlondon and some gorgeous black “linen-style” cotton, and for the lining I used a scrap of @spoonflower cotton jersey. Lately I've been confused as to what clothes fit my life (WFH mom in an informal city) AND my style (which is sort of dressy, I guess). So I sort of don't know what to sew. But underwear is always needed, and I also want to get rid of scraps. These are linen scraps and it was hard to find an underwear pattern for wovens, the one that works is the @sewoveritlondon #soiknickers . Such cuteness! 😍 It took me three tries to make these #soiknickers by @sewoveritlondon (not the pattern’s fault at all, but rather the fabric and my overlocker). I picked up a big piece of this fabric from the remnant bin, the kind where you pay by weight so it was a really good deal since it weighs almost nothing! But it slipped all over the place, frayed if you so much as looked at it, and my overlocker chewed off the edges while I tried to do a rolled hem 🤪 Still, the three knickers I made helped me memorize the steps, and I have enough fabric for many more! #handmadewardrobe #isewmyownclothes #handmadeunderwear

After yesterdays sewing bee I was reminded how much I like sewing undies. This is a pair of #soiknickers in a lisa comfort cotton (lawn I think?) scrap. Undies are great for using up those bits of fabric that you “know” will come in useful. This is a woven pattern too so really useful. Last week I made a #fionadress by @fionahesford_sewgirl but added an extra tier as I really fancied a maxi. I made a size 10 could probably have sized down. Fabric is beautiful cotton lawn from @stitch_fabric1 and I used scraps to make two pairs of @sewoveritlondon #soiknickers great pattern to use up woven scraps to make matchy matchy underwear, also have a #harrietbra cut out (waiting for the findings to arrive)from scraps . Oh and of course a couple of face masks too
