🍂🦊🧵 Me Made November - Day 8 🧵🦊🍂 I don't usually go into the office on Fridays, but I had a meeting to attend so no casual Friday for me! I'm wearing a new @sewoveritlondon Vintage Shirt Dress made in this fun @cloud9fabrics fox and floral print from @fleur.et.ours! I love this fabric and you may have seen me share my Sagebrush Top made in the same fabric. I wore the dress with black tights, black belt with pearl details and brown lace up ankle boots. I also wore my Sew Over It Amelia Jacket made in this @spoonflower floral cotton with a @abakhan_manchester vintage floral cotton lining. I should have probably worn a plain jacket with the dress print being so fun and bold, but I don't wear this jacket enough! It's been a bit of a frustrating day, but at least I got to dress up a bit and I am home now with Spooky and planning on doing some sewing once I've logged off. Have a lovely Friday 💕 x P.s. Two makes using patterns from @sewoveritlondon, the Carrie Trousers in a Ponte Roma, and the Amelia Jacket in a synthetic leather fabric from @minervadotcom. Pins leave holes in synthetic leather so had to use clips instead. I did add a self-drafted hood to the jacket, as well as interlining, and lengthened the jacket. Overalls (self drafted from blocks) 3. Dress from block using pattern cutting book 4. #LaBlouse by @atelierbrunette 5. #SOIAmeliaJacket by @sewoveritlondon 6. Wide leg trousers in suiting from trouser block 7. Self drafted leopard print denim mini skirt 8. Fitted waistcoat to match trousers from Designing Patterns book by Hilary Campbell 9. #HarrietBlouse by @_beletoile_ and @sewitcurly Aims for 2025: Get more creative with my trouser block Use my new bodice block to draft and build my skills doing dart manipulation Think about how new pieces will work with my other clothes and plans by assessing what currently works in my wardrobe and why Sew and buy with more intention Try not to speed through to the finish (this will be very difficult for me!) 😅 Make toiles without the expectation that they be wearable Enjoy the process!

✨Make Nine 2024 Review✨ ⁣ ⁣ I’m really pleased that this year I have managed to complete all of the projects in my #makenine2024 plans. There was a point when I thought I might not finish them but managed to finish 4 in the last 3 months. ⁣ ⁣ The first grid shows photos of my nine finished makes and the second grid shows the plans I had made. This year I decided to pick nine new patterns that I wanted to make but hadn’t had the opportunity to yet. ⁣ ⁣ Here are the details of my finished garments. ⁣ Working from left to right starting at the top row: ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 1️⃣ #donnyshirt @fridaypatterncompany I ended up making three of these blouses and love wearing all of them. Perfect for both work or home. ⁣ 2️⃣ #marlosweater @truebias I also made three of these and they are also in constant rotation. This was my first time making a cardigan and I will definitely be making more. ⁣ 3️⃣ #persephonepants @annaallenclothing I made a pink pair of jeans that are wearable but I am planning on improving the fit of these in the new year. ⁣ 4️⃣ #arianadress @stylearc I had problems getting the bodice to fit on this one and am not sure that the fabric is very me. I may make another in the future. ⁣ 5️⃣ #soiameliajacket @sewoveritlondon I’ve just finished this and have yet to wear it, so am looking forward to wearing this in the spring. ⁣ 6️⃣ #berlinjacket @tessutifabrics I love this jacket and wear it loads! Today I am wearing a new @sewoveritlondon Lulu Dress made in a beautiful William Morris Cotton from @abakhan_mostyn! I'm struggling with a cold and as much as I'd want to stay in bed I decided to get some fresh air and Alex treated me to a lovely hot chocolate. This lovely Ace puffer fabric from @fabricgodmother made the perfect @sewoverit #soiameliajacket. I had a small remnant of the @ladymcelroyfabrics Panda retreat fabric for the lining. This took me quite a while - it could be that I was very inefficient but let’s call it a labour of love 😁. This is my third @sewoverit Amelia jacket, in red twill from @minervadotcom and with Liberty lining. I had hardly any of this Liberty fabric so had to patchwork what little I had together before I could start. The back lining piece is made up of five separate bits of the fabric! Worth it though - it’s arguably the best part of the jacket! There was just enough to add an internal pocket. Wearing this brings me joy 🥰. Isn’t it great to be able to make clothes that make us quietly happy. #soiameliajacket

I’m always so impressed by @backstitchshop. Thank you, Alice! You are my go-to for Bemberg lining fabric. Your parcels are always so speedily despatched and sustainably packaged. Incredibly I ordered this black Bemberg on the 29th and it arrived today, the 31st. I can crack on with using it for the sleeves for my jacket lining. A couple of lift selfies from this week. With the summer holidays and then the K&S show I’ve not had a chance to post. Well managed to post about my jeans but I put it on the wrong account 🙈 so will need to repost that at some point 🥸 So here are the two items I’ve been wearing the most this week. 1. Amelia jacket - you might recognise this from the workshop we recently released on stitch school. I got to keep it and I’m so happy 😁 it is a wool cropped jacket but I wear it oversized for a more bomber jacket look. It is lined and so cosy #soiameliajacket 2. Ultimate jeans - freshly completed from jeans club and immediately worn at least every other day. These are version 2 - mum jeans style and the more I wear them the comfier they get. #soiultimatejeans #soijeansclub

I've been quiet but I have been sewing, and this this little beauty I thought needed showing off, the @sewoveritlondon Amelia Jacket. Made in this gorgeous vegan wool bought for me from a lovely friend - purchased from @minervadotcom with a viscose/challis lining also from the above. I made a size 8 on the neck/shoulders, and a 12 everywhere else as I wanted to wear it with sweaters, I left the length of the body as in the pattern and removed 1 inch from the sleeves. 🎀🩷Fuchsia Amelia Jacket🩷🎀⁣ ⁣ I bought the @sewoveritlondon #soiameliajacket pattern last year and then never got around to making it. I added it to this years #makenine2024 but didn’t get around to making it until November/December of this year. So he here is my out of season new jacket!! ⁣ ⁣ This was a more challenging make for me, being the first time I have installed an open ended zip or lined a jacket. However the instructions were detailed and I was able to follow them with no problems. I did have to reduce the elastic in the cuffs as they were slightly large. I didn’t anticipate the amount of hand-stitching as the lining needed to be slip stitched by band inside but I actually enjoyed sitting and finishing this in the evenings in front of the TV! ⁣ ⁣ The fabric and notions are all from @fabriclanduk . I used a fuchsia pink corduroy for the outer and lined with a yellow and pink floral viscose. 🪡🌼 Me Made May - Day 3 🌼🪡 Today I am wearing my rtw 'Mum' Jeans paired with my @SewOverItLondon Roxy Jumper and floral Amelia Jacket. Today was very much a case of comfort and whatever came to hand first. I've never really worn 'Mum' style jeans before so finding ways of wearing them and how to style them. I may also need to do some adjustments to the waist as they are a little bit loose. They are super comfy though!! Today didn't quite go as planned. I was supposed to have a flexi day from work and catch up with some bits and pieces and go to a couple of wedding appointments. Instead Spooky needed a quick trip to the vets to make sure he was ok after eating and wheezing on a bit of grass. He's all good and was perfectly fine and didn't understand why Mummy was so worried and was very cross that he didn't get fed till after lunch!! So I worked from home instead and wasn't too concerned about what I was wearing. Hence the frazzled face and messy hair 😂 quiet evening of kitten cuddles and a good historical fiction book for me!
