This year, for our annual Christmas Eve party this afternoon, I've made the children goody bags again. I've used the #SOIToteBag pattern this time, and some festive fabric from my shop @tuesdayschildfabrics I wanted to make a new outfit for the party too, but taking a leaf out of @paigejoannaa book I decided not to put the pressure on. I don't need a new outfit, I have #MECFS and don't need to waste energy doing something I don't need to, and I'll have fun whether I have a new dress or not! I'll share my party outfit later. The Christmas presents went down well! My nephew's were really happy with their quilts (picture 4). My youngest nephew has been taking it downstairs each morning to snuggle and hide under 🤣 (picture 2) whilst my eldest nephew neatly folds it up on his bed ❤️ Lupin (my sister's cat @nataliejackson2193) wants to show off the other gifts! I also made my Mum, sister and twin sister a tote bag and sunglasses case (picture 1 and 3) I made the cat applique by drawing an outline, cutting it into pieces and then cutting three lots out of fabric from my scraps (for three tote bags). I applied bondaweb to the cat and ironed it down onto some navy cotton twill. I had some twill left over from the Amelia Jacket I made and I thought it would he a good base. I then embroidered each piece with 'Cat Lady for Life'. Next was to make the tote bag and I used the @SewOverItLondon Tote bags. These came together really quickly and I used some of my half meter scraps for the bags. I then overlocked the Cat Lady piece and attached it into the tote bad ekth a zig zag stitch. This was such a lovely project with some applique, hand embroidery and machine sewing. The sunglasses case was such an easy sew! I followed @sookiesews really helpful and easy to follow YouTube video. I used some cat fabric and floral cotton and also added some iron on wadding. I came across this at my local sewing shop and I wish I knew about this product sooner! If I make another quilt I will definitely look into iron on wadding! I am really enjoying seeing all the lovely gifts you made family and friends popping up on my Instagram! I hope you have had a lovely couple of days.
