My last make for April the #soinasimajumpsuit made with the gorgeous ponte de roma from @craftsandquilts. A very quick and easy sew, will size down on the bodice for the next make. It's no secret that I love a Jumpsuit, this week I've made 2! This is the #soinasimajumpsuit By @sewoveritlondon It's a great pattern, love the neckline, it's easy to get in and out of and the waistband isn't too restrictive I made a couple of alterations, added pockets (naturally 😅) and I attached a waist tie to either side as I'm not keen on the phaff of undoing a belt and having to hang onto it whilst I take a natural break etc etc, and I wanted to cover the waistband Definitely can see me making more of these, however when I unpack last summers wardrobe I'm pretty sure I'll discover I already have a Jumpsuit for everyday of the week, and month probably! Lovely fabric from @stitch_fabric1 and was a bargain at £4 a meter How's your #memademay2021 going? This is the first @sewoveritlondon Nasima Jumpsuit I made in burgundy cupro jersey from @surgefabricshop . This is shortened 3” in the inseam at 2 different spots (1.5” at each spot), and shortened 3/4” through the armholes. I thought the bodice length was a bit short as I want it to blouse over the elastic waistband so in my second iteration (posted 4/14 in my feed), I added 1” to the bodice length and removed 1” from the rise to effectively move the waistband down. I’m still not entirely sure about jumpsuits on me because I feel like I’m wearing a children’s romper suit, especially in a jersey. Pillows were a spontaneous project, starting with first on right for younger grandson undergoing a medical procedure. He adores soft and squishy things, alternately cuddling and bouncing on them. This odd pillow creature was an immediate hit and soothes him through many bumps and bruises. I made the weird looking dino pet for his older brother, as I knew he’d want his own pillow. . 4 & 5. Bottom middle and right: Easter “baskets” for grandsons. Smaller bunny ear basket made of husband’s old shirts for younger grandson, filled with a board book and his favorite yogurt melts. Larger sturdy bin made with stash upholstery fabric and vinyl for older grandson, filled with dinosaur eggs. I much prefer making “baskets” when I can that might be used for toy storage, etc.—especially when I can use stash or up cycle fabric. . One of two #soinasimajumpsuit I’ve made this is a viscose jersey really lightweight so I used poppers not buttons to fasten. Added 6 inches on legs, 4 inches on bodice took 1 inch off the rise and sized down to an 8. @sewoveritlondon has released their latest PDF pattern: the Nasima jumpsuit. As a pattern insider I was gifted a printed copy of the pattern to make it ahead of the release. Instead of making the full jumpsuit, I made it as a crop top with a high-low hem to wear with high-waisted trousers (here with the #pietrapants) or over strappy dresses. I love it, I think it's really cute! I sized down, made a size 6 and the only change I made was to lengthen the bodice by 2.5 cm at the front and 5.5 cm at the back. The fabric is a linen mix jersey from @sewmesunshine.uk. It's quite thick so I omitted the neck binding - I simply folded the neckline in and topstitched. First of two Nasima jumpsuits finished this week, which counts as prepping for the new term in my book. I really love these although I wasn’t sure about the neck binding in jersey, stitching in the ditch is a bit futile with a stretch stitch and the ends are a bit bulky but I neatened them up on the second version by stitching the ends RST and flipping them the right way round. Ive made a few mods to account for narrow shoulders and to shorten the torso, I did put pockets on this to start but they were too low down so I took them off rather than be constantly annoyed by them. Me Made May Day 5 - bit on the fence about my latest make - especially as my husband called me Mrs Tumble! When @sewoveritlondon released their new jumpsuit for knits pattern recently I was delighted because a jersey jumpsuit was next on my make list. I’d been toying with fan-fave Sirocco Jumpsuit by Deer and Doe but couldn’t decide if it would suit my shape. The Nasima is a slouchy style with an elasticated waist which I think will work on me better. I hacked a top version out of the leftovers from my last make for @minervadotcom. A beautifully soft, lightweight black jersey with a sparkle. The pattern instructions are, as always with SOI, clear to follow but the neckline and cuffs have a bit of work in them so beware. Modifications made for this version: Added 1.5” to the bottom front and back Added a waistband of 3” folded over. I could have added another inch or so at the front and will do so for my jumpsuit version. I’m in love with this top and have been wearing it on its own and with a long sleeved top underneath for warmth. It goes with jeans and skirts - the high waisted types. No bare skin for me. Is this too colourful to wear!?? 😆 I just need matching hair colour now! This is the latest pattern from @sewoveritlondon The Nasima jumpsuit. As a Pattern insider, I get to sew up this pattern for release. Jumpsuits r sometimes abit tricky for me. I am short waisted and stand at 5ft 4. Most SOI patterns fit me well enough; albeit juuuuuust a tad high waisted at times. My measurements put me in size 11-12-10 But based on finished garment measurements, I figured I might be able to get away with a size 10. Modifications - raised V neckline 1 inch and adjusted neck band accordingly. personal preference, since I prefer not to have to worry about flashing people whenever I bend over. 😆 - I made a quick muslin of the bottoms n found the rise too long for me. I took off 1 inch. - lengthened the bodice 1.5 inches cuz i wanted a bit of blouson effect - elastic length to fit -adjusted the inseam so that it is less tapered n more of a straight leg. - made shorts Instead of pants 😆 - used french Terry which is totally not in the recommended fabrics. But I figured some people with french terry in their stash would like to see how it looks sewn up. 😆 Not your regular Nasima anymore I guess! 😅 Pattern gifted from @sewoveritlondon Fabric is a French terry from @astrokatze; from a store local to me @sewgoodknits A store with excellent customer service and of course even more excellent quality fabric. All I want for Christmas is keep warm and comfy while sewing in these energy saving times. And this jumpsuit is definitely doing the trick! So, I love a chunky knit and have had a crush on this fabric for ages, but never found anything to use it for. It’s one of the few fabrics I bought, in two colors even, without a solid plan for how to use it. This spring I tried making a sweater with it, but the fit ended up really weird, which scared me from using it for a while. So the rest got packed away to save it for something more worthy. Enter the Nasima jumpsuit. As soon as I saw this pattern, I knew what I wanted to do with it. The fit was a just right, but I added some details in the shape of a front and back pockets plus side seam pockets, because there can never be too many pockets. I also widened the cuffs for more of a statement sleeve. This is a size 14 without any alterations to the fit, a rare thing for a shorty like me. As you can see I liked it so much I needed to make more than one 💙🧡💚 The green is for my mom though, we are lucky enough to have the exact same body shape and measurements. It’s finally warm enough for me to wear my @sewoveritlondon Nasima jumpsuit! I made this weeks ago just after it came out and it’s been so cold I haven’t actually worn it yet (note to self: get a nice chunky cardi for layering). It was really quick sew - reckon I could do whip up another in an afternoon if I was organised - and it is reeeeaaallly comfy. I added two inches to the bodice for extra floof, and took an inch out of the rise cos it was super low on me - I’ve only got little legs. I did snaps instead of buttons because I couldn’t be bothered with buttonholes, and I added an extra one in to accommodate the extra length in the bodice. If I was making it again, I’d use less elastic on the waist - i could stand it being a little tighter and I feel like it really needs the belt. Still, I’m loving it and I’m off to test it out in the pub for lunch. Sew Over It go up to a 60 inch hip.

I promised photos of the toile that I fell in love with #soinasimajumpsuit from @sewoveritlondon that I made in some sweatshirting that was in a fault bag from @coalvillefabrics . I made some adjustments added length to bodice and leg length. If you look back on my previous post you’ll see I felt the legs were still a little short. I added some ribbing to the bottom and voila extra length😊! I know this is not how Lisa designed this but it works it’s comfy and I love it.
