Finally a new makes post! The @bygraciesteel foxie long boxies in a twill fabric from rainbow fabrics, this was the panelled animal print (some with a white background some with brown) but the remnant I had meant I couldn't cut it out without a small brown patch in an unideal place 😂 rather than scrapping the idea I dyed it and I love how it's come out! I'm very new to wearing any animal print so it's probably a better option for me like this than a bright white with animal print on! The tshirt is the @sewoveritlondon #soiultimatetshirt in a cotton jersey from @jennystitchesfabrics This is my most made pattern and I decided to make a few adjustments to this one that I'm really happy with! It's a size 20 on the small block with a 1/2 inch (could do with an inch next time!) Fba, a high round back and forward shoulder adjustment. It’s been a long time since my last post🙈, though I have been sewing and in fact photographing some of the makes too. First up is the #soiultimatetshirt version 2 with short sleeves in this statement jersey🌸💪🏼☀️🌈☁️🌼 that I found at @mosssymaskinsenter . My experience with SOI is that they come up slightly big on my shoulders and bust so I sized down on the top part and grade out one size from under the arms down. Well, this pattern might be the exception as I find it rather snug on the top part🫤 so for any future makes I will stick to the measurement chart😉. It’s also pretty long (and I’m not) so I chopped off 11 cm at the bottom. As the weather takes a turn for the autumnal, the jerseys and knits are top of my list. This french terry arrived a little while ago and she's perfect for now. I looked up the collective noun for cheetahs - it's a coalition. Who knew!? This coalition of big cats are bounding across the cloth which is a lovely sky blue marl colour. It's quite lightweight so would suit patterns that would benefit from a soft drape. The @sewoveritlondon #soiultimatetshirt would be a lovely staple and a pretty quick sew. Two versions of the @sewoveritlondon #SOIUltimateTShirt finished yesterday for youngest Craftyguidelet. She originally wanted to sew them with me, but in the rush of needing them, she cut both versions out, sewed some of the black one and handed the job over to me for speed. She wanted them a lot more cropped than the original pattern so I had to remove a few inches off the bottom hem. The black is a remnant of some organic cotton jersey from my stash, originally from @guthrieghani and the cream is an end of bolt piece of ecru linen cotton jersey from @sewmesunshine.uk that she bought. This is an #msvufa member preparing for picket duty on day 11 of a strike (it’s -5C). We are on strike because we want language related to equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility included in our collective agreement. We are also among the lowest paid faculty in Canada. Our university, Mount Saint Vincent University, #msvu prides itself on a mandate of advancement of women and social justice, but apparently that does not apply to those who work there. The Board of Governors, our employers, has just cancelled its March meeting as there is nothing to discuss, even though the largest employee group on campus is on strike. Shame on the BoG! Another recent make that I’ve just got round to taking photos of! This is the @sewoveritlondon ultimate T-shirt. I think this has become my new favourite T-shirt pattern! Disclaimer- I did get the pattern for free as a pattern insider but I genuinely love it! This is the crew neck version with short sleeves. The pattern has a crew neck option, scoop neck and a vneck option. I’ve made 2 scoop necks before and I made a size 18 previously. This one is a size 16 and I think it’s a better fit. I love that the 3 different neck options each have their own front bodice piece so I didn’t need to reprint it! The fabric is a lovely soft black and white leopard print cotton jersey from @stitchandinkfabrics with black ribbing for the neck band. Christmas party ready ! 🎄🧑‍🎄 We have our office Christmas party tomorrow and couldn’t resist sewing something new to wear. I made an Ava skirt in the longer length option. In this fabulously OTT fabric. It’s actually more green on the ‘right’ side but loved the shiney silver and also meant it was softer on the inside so didn’t need lining. I also made the top with some left over stretch velvet I had from last Christmas when I made an Estelle dress. I used the block from the ultimate t-shirt and then did some slash and spread to make it off the shoulder. #sewoveritavaskirt #soiultimatetshirt

Here I am wearing one of my latest makes! I absolutely love this fabric! This is the @sewoveritlondon ultimate T-shirt which I think is a great T-shirt pattern!
