🌟New make 🌟This is the cute and incredibly cosy @sewoveritlondon #soisalmadress in the roll neck and puff sleeve version, with an added front pocket taken from the #soidrewhoodie to keep my hands warm ☺️ Speaking of hands, the ones on this fun @pigeonwishes.shops sweatshirt fabric had gold and red nails and I decided to change all the red ones for lilac and purple ones using @happyfabric.uk vinyl. Drew Hoodie Part 2 of my matching family hoodies!!  For hub’s jumper I used Sew Over It’s Drew Hoodie pattern which is available on their Stitch School. The main fabric is a lovely thick and soft navy sweatshirt fabric and the inside hood fabric matches bub’s hoodie. I guess this was meant to be oversized but hubs prefers fitted garments so I graded down a lot! In the end I guess this would have been the equivalent of a size 0?! I really liked the little details in this pattern with the top stitching around the armhole seam and the hood although I struggled with this to get it looking neat on the inside. The Kanga pocket pattern piece was well thought out too and worked well with this heavier fabric. Merry (belated) Christmas! Delayed post because I’ve just been enjoying family time! I don’t really have any fancy Christmas parties to attend, so church on Christmas Sunday is when I wear my new Christmas outfit each year. Like getting dressed up for Jesus’ birthday party! Months ago, I found this incredible jacquard fabric at Harmony and talked myself out of buying because when would I wear it? Then it was still there when I went to their fashion show/anniversary sale and I could resist no longer. Thank goodness! I bought it and immediately started planning an outfit, complete with gold pumps, of course. Sewing notes: Top: #bfnicole, size 2 in a super soft sweater knit from @blackbirdfabrics. Two sizes down from my normal because the fabric is very stretchy and I wanted it fitted. And I cut the neckline in about .5” closer to the neck. Skirt: mostly self-drafted with a little help from a hacked #mnbrumby waistband. This took longer than it should have because the pleats math wasn’t mathing in my brain! And I should have added pockets but haven’t yet because Christmas time crunch was very real. Jacquard fabric from @madewithharmony. This project definitely brought me joy so I’ll add it to the #harmonyjoyproject! I hope everyone had some joy this holiday season! SEW OVER IT DREW HOODIE! I made this before Christmas, as a practice run before making two “proper” ones for my husband and son-in-law as gifts. It turned out pretty well until I was 99% finished and realised I’d punched my eyelets through both sides of the cord channel, thus closing it off and not being able to thread the cord through 🙄 However, last week I finally got round to rectifying it by making a very small hole on the inner side of the channel, just above each eyelet, and threading the cord through, before bringing it out through the outer side of the channel. Unless you got really close, you wouldn’t know it was there. The fabric is white Ponte Roma from Minerva. I made a size 20, which I feel was absolutely right, particularly since I’m still losing weight and I always feel that hoodies look best with a bit of bagginess in them. There's a surprise back detail reminiscent of @yumerey 's trousers in our last post. 2. @bellas_stiches has made two bright,  colourful,  pieced versions of the Main Everyday Hoodie from @mainzwillingsnadel (sizes 34-50) 3. @kayzeecrafts used supersoft cuddle fleece to make an oversized hoodie (snuddie) using #Simplicity9456 ... whilst @verenaquelle found this pattern by @machbarsbesteschnitte a simple easy make.  4. The #stantonhoodie  by @cashmerette comes in inclusive sizes,  has cup options, biceps adjustments and pattern options. @polly_sews made the hooded version,  @suchlovelythreads left the hood off on this one.  5. @grandmassewinghouse used the Julia pattern from @sewmesomething and combined it with a hood from a different pattern,  and used soft fleece- backed jersey.  6. Two colour versions of the Rainbow hoodie from @iam_patterns   for @sarahbarrett579 7. @debs_sewing_room used sweatshirting for the Stella Hoodie by @tillybuttons 8. @sosewmarion likes the #seamworkrudy as it uses elastic instead of ribbing @seamwork 9. @fionasewing used French Terry for the #soidrewhoodie by @sewoveritlondon 10. @sew_many_bobbins made a matching set using #kwiksew3045 and easy pants from @sistermagpatterns #SewOver50  #SewOverAgeism

Drew Hoodie/Gender Reveal! This is the second #soidrewhoodie I've made. I wanted to do a fun gender reveal and since my son made the baby announcement using a top I sewed him, I thought I'd keep the theme running! I used the same size as I made up for hubs which was significantly smaller than the size 6 as he wanted a tighter fit. I also did a 2cm forward shoulder adjustment and replaced the hood with a neckband. Can't wait to wear this out and about when bubs2 is here!! Fabric and matching ribbing is a lovely soft grey sweatshirting fabric from @sewmuchmoor The "mum of boys" is an iron on vinyl from @creationsbysheena created on her #cricut. Family Hoodies!! I’ve never done matchy-matchy before but while bubs is young enough not to complain about it I thought I’d try making matching hoodies! I made my life a bit harder by choosing 3 different patterns for all 3 hoodies! I’m wearing a hacked #sewingstella hoodie from @tillybuttons Hubs is wearing a very sized down #soidrewhoodie from @sewoveritlondon Bubs is wearing the #hotchocolatehoodie from @wavesandwild I love this bright dinosaur print French Terry fabric from @1stforfabrics but figured hubs is more likely to wear his if I just use this fabric in subtle places like the hood and inside the pocket.   Our hoodies are made from a lovely thick navy sweatshirting fabric from @minervadotcom.
