Here's my @sewoverit #soifrankiejacket finished last weekend. Made with @backstitchshop 4.5 Wale Corduroy and wooden buttons. Made V2 with V1 pockets. It's a size 12 graded to size 10 at the shoulders and my usual forward shoulder adjustment. Love this smarter worker jacket. Forgot to do photos of the lining but the garden photos hints at the purple that is my current favourite colour everywhere Didn't actually wear the jacket today. spent the day in my #msworkertrousers and a @fridaypatterncompany #sagebrushtop that I don't think I've ever posted. I’ve always struggled with boxy casual jackets, making many toiles that make me look more box than human. Enter Frankie, @sewoveritlondon’s March pattern, a casual chore jacket with enough fitting to make it perfect across all shapes, but still keep that cool boxy style. I love it! I made mine in dark green corduroy with a viscose lining and it’s a perfect spring weight. Instead of doing a full bust adjustment, I simply graded from a smaller shoulder size to a larger size at the bust to get the fit that I wanted. #soifrankiejacket

I sewed this lined jacket with chunky corduroy in my regular size 10 and shortened the body by 1.5” and sleeves by 1”. 👉 This a great jacket for the in-between seasons when the weather doesn’t know what it wants to do. I’m just embracing everything pink this year 💕. 👉👉 Did I mentioned it is a lined jacket? This is the Sew Over It Frankie jacket pattern. It's a shorter- length boxy, lined jacket, with a choice of pocket and collar styles. I've made mine in a silver cotton drill from Pound Fabrics and a polkadot cotton lining from Trago. I lengthened the darts and the sleeves, and if I make it again, will lengthen the body too, I just didn't have enough fabric! #sewoverit #soifrankiejacket

I’m loving my first lined jacket ready for Spring! It’s the #soifrankiejacket with great lined pockets, super buttons from #pigeonwishesbuttons, sadly both the shops that I bought the needle cord and cotton lawn have closed down. I’ll make another jean fabric version and need to hunt out a suitably funky lining from my stash! Been really busy sewing and not documenting any of it! Into the Woods is about six weeks away so it’s definitely crunch time! These jackets belong to Jack (green) and the Baker (yellow). They are both the new @sewoveritlondon Frankie Jacket, which came out last month at just the right time, when I was trying to figure out the perfect coat for the Baker. Both are slightly modified from the original pattern. Neither have buttons or buttonholes and the green version uses the flap pocket without the flap. It’s pattern release day for @sewoveritlondon the new #soifrankiejacket . As a #soipatterninsiders I was lucky to receive it early. It’s a chore jacket, that is perfect to wear on walks or out for errands. I made my version from a heavy linen, and I think the heavy fabric is perfect for this pattern. I can imagine another version in cotton canvas or corduroy. I loved sewing this, lots of opportunities for topstitching and chore jacket details like slanted pockets, shaped sleeves and a pointed or rounded collar. @sewoveritlondon PDF pattern release this month is the #soifrankiejacket, a boxy utility jacket which I decided to make in a fancier looking print for the best of both worlds 😊 I made version 1 which has a sharp collar, darted sleeve and angled patch pockets to keep my hands warm. Version 2 features a Peter Pan style collar, rounded flap patch pockets and a fuller sleeve gathered into a narrow cuff. Both collars are constructed with a partial collar stand to make it sit just right, and the jacket and pockets are fully lined. I made mine in an embossed cotton twill and lined it in a solid burgundy satin, both of these fabrics were from garage sales hosted by the sewing class I learned to sew at a few years ago! . As a #soipatterninsider I was given the opportunity to make up the pattern ahead of release date in exchange of sharing my rendition on release day!
