🌼 Sew Over It Josephine Blouse🌼 Me Made May showed me that I needed some more separates in my wardrobe, especially for the spring/summer. Luckily @SewOverItLondon brought out a couple of top patterns including the Josephine Blouse. I had this gorgeous floral viscose that I picked up from Sew Over It and it ended up being perfect for the pattern. I think the fabric has a gorgeous drape to it that gives a beautiful line from the shoulder to the waist. I added a popper to the busy area to ensure it closes. I wore it without a popper a few times, but if I wear it to the office/whilst on work calls I want to make sure there is no gaping! I do have to double knot the waist ties because the fabric is a little slippery and one knot tends to come loose. I was worried that the blouse would look a little boxy on me, but I actually really like it and where it finishes on my waist. I will probably wear it with slim/skinny jeans or perhaps a cover up over a plain summer dress. I do think I will make some more up! I've got a lovely white viscose in my stash that I think will look really lovely and be a perfect cover up for cami tops or summer dresses. I finished the blouse with some lovely burgundy vintage buttons. I was given a large tin of buttons a few years ago and these have been sat patiently waiting to be added to a make. The new Josephine blouse from @sewoveritlondon made in animal print viscose. Lovely blouse, very easy to make! I made my standard size 12, with my usual fit adjustments. I added a center back seam and shaped the back a bit more as a personal preference. Modifications: I I am 5’. I sewed up size 10. Our Josephine Blouse also looks beautiful in a printed fabric, like this pretty floral version by our very own @rosie_stirling 🌸 If you choose to make the version with the scallops, pick a drapey fabric that presses well: a viscose or a silk crepe are perfect, just steer clear of polyester as it won't hold its shape too well. 🌟The Josephine Blouse 🌟 This is the latest release by @sewoveritlondon as a pattern insider I was gifted this pattern early to make. I have created the version without the scallop neckline. This is a straight 14. I’ve just the sleeves sorter as I don’t really get on with cuffed sleeves. I’ve made it in a lovely SOI viscose from there original run of this pattern. The hidden features in the blouse make it so wearable without fear of it riding up or down! This is also my entry for #sewaprilblouse23 by @cloth_edit and @theyorkshiresewgirl such a great challenge to get me to actually sew a blouse ready for the summer!
