Sharing my newest jumpsuit in my me-made wardrobe. I made this some time ago and it's had plenty of wear over the summer. I was gifted this lovely Minerva Exclusive cotton sateen as a Minerva Brand Ambassador. I've never sewn with a cotton sateen before and I was not sure what to expect. I anticipated that it would be a slippery fabric, maybe because sateen sounds like satin, and satin is slippery. However, cotton sateen feels/looks like an "inbetween" of cotton lawn and cotton poplin and it's a joy to sew with. The Jemima jumpsuit had been on my to-make list since it came out earlier this year. It does not have any zips or buttons, rather it has an elasticated waistband which makes it really comfortable to wear, while cinching in at the waist (just how I like it). I made the jumpsuit in a size 10 at the bust and graded it to a size 12 at the waist. As a @sewoveritlondon Pattern Insider I got the chance to see their upcoming patterns and I "jumped" At the opportunity to make the new Jemima Jumpsuit! I made it up in this amazing viscose twill (I think it was from sew over it ages ago) and couldn't be happier with how it came out 😁 I'll be wearing this pretty much non stop all summer 🌞 I love the pleat details at the front, and the cinched in elastic back suits my figure.

It’s release day for the new @sewoveritlondon pattern! As a pattern insider I was given the pattern early to sew it up so that you have chance to see the pattern made up! And she is lovely! This is the Jemima pattern! She is both a jumpsuit and dress pattern! I’ve made a 14 in the jumpsuit version based on current measurements but she did come up baggy in the bodice so I have taken her in around the sides and back. I have also added pockets to my version as pockets are a must when young children are around!! This jumpsuit is made in a lovely cotton sateen I bought years ago on Goldhawk Road! The main detail is the lovely pleats along the front to give the pattern shape! The other examples made are also amazing! And I now want to make the dress version too! So happy sewing all! This is my new @sewoveritlondon Jemima jumpsuit ready for when we get some warmer weather. This is my first time making this pattern and I’m fairly pleased with how it turned out. The jumpsuit has no buttons or zip - you just step into the neckline but I did stretch out the neckline a bit when sewing it so I should have stay stitched it. I added pockets as always and did a petite bodice adjustment. It’s really comfy and I like the pleats at the front. I used an @artgalleryfabrics viscose challis from @minervadotcom. The fabric was gifted to me as part of the Minerva brand ambassador programme in exchange for a review on their website.

Our Jemima Jumpsuit is super comfy to wear yet really stylish. Sew it in a striking print and pop a pair of heels on and it's a great outfit for a night out! It’s launch day for the @sewoveritlondon Jemima Jumpsuit & Dress and I get to share my #soijemimajumpsuit made in a super light crinkle viscose, also from Sew Over It 😍 I took my time with the fitting on this one and it really paid off: I made a size 10 grading to an 8 at the waist and hips as it’s quite a roomy pattern and I like things more fitted. I also did my usual adjustments to the crotch. Modifications: I am 5’ measuring at 36”: 29”: 36”. I have a short torso so I shortened the shoulder straps by 1” and shortened the bodice 5”. I also shortened the skirt by 5” at the bottom. I sewed Jemima in size 10 with a crinkled rayon. I hope you like Jemima as much as I do. Ad- gifted pattern. As a pattern insider I was given early access to the pattern for free. I can finally show my @sewoveritlondon jemima jumpsuit which is their latest pattern! I made a straight size 16 which is a size down for me. It has pleat details on the front which you can’t really see due to the busy print! There are no fastenings on this jumpsuit which make it an easy sew. I used a viscose fabric I bought at the stitch festival a few months ago. The pattern instructions said I needed almost 4m of fabric but when I cut it out I used much less - closer to 3m. It’s super comfy and easy to wear! [#Ad] Say hello to your new summer staple - the Jemima dress (and jumpsuit!) from @sewoveritlondon These secret pyjamas have a lovely pleated detail at the front, and an elastic back. The dress is super easy to pull on, and I imagine the jumpsuit is too (gonna have to try that one soon). . I made up mine as a dress, in a size 14, in a summer holiday tropical fabric I got for a bargain £2p/m from a shop on Walthamstow Market. I made a mistake with the elastic, so this goes all the way round the waist instead of back only (note to self: read the instructions!!) and I forgot to do a swayback which I will add next time, I also added pockets. . One thing I’ll say is that I do find this a little roomier than other SOI patterns. Of course it has to be to get it on/off easily as it has no closures, but I will probably size down just a little in the bodice next time. . Ad: gifted pattern @sewoveritlondon released their latest pdf pattern today, the Jemima Dress & Jumpsuit. I made a size 12, with no pattern adjustments. I made mine in a @mindthemaker viscose and managed to get it out of 2m although my fabric was 150cm wide. I love the combo of the pleats at the front and the elastic ruching at the back. You know, if I'd had any idea that my muslin of this dress - Jemima by @sewoveritlondon - was going to turn out so wearable I'd have matched my serger thread to the fabric. I'd also have measured the straps more carefully so I wouldn't have ended up folding them at the shoulder and sewing on pretty buttons, but I'm going to blame that on sewing past midnight again. Am I allowed to be impressed that I managed to line up the pleats on the bodice and on the skirt properly the first time? No seam ripper needed. My pleats are historically not always as precise as they should be, so it was a nice surprise. I sewed a size 16 blended to a 20 at the waist/hip, and shortened the bodice by 3 cm and the skirt by 15 cm. I'll keep those adjustments for the next version and add a couple more: I'll take 6 cm off each strap, and lengthen the back waist elastic by 5 cm so it doesn't pull as much at the sides. Fabric is a cotton poplin that I picked up on clearance some months ago. It's not the highest quality fabric I've ever sewn but it behaves well enough. I'd love to sew another Jemima in something light and soft - I have a black rayon with a cherry print that might be just the thing. Into the Woods has officially closed and I am done with shows for this school year! As always it was an absolute joy to design and make costumes for these kids! We have Shrek, Jr. coming up next, but won’t be getting started until September so I have a few months off (but I’ll be brainstorming during that time, of course!). Here is a small costuming preview! Over the next few days I will share more details and more pictures (but get used to the smileys/cut off heads as I won’t be sharing the students’ faces). Summer sewing? This dress is spot on for warm summer holidays. Meet the Jemima dress by @sewoveritlondon. As a Pattern Insider I get given the pattern in advance, but obviously, my opinions are my own. . . There are jumpsuit or dress options, and I was all set to make a jumpsuit when this fabric called to me from my stash. I only had 1.5m so it's shorter than the original pattern. The dress is pull-on, with no zips or buttons. The all-in-one facing means it's neat inside and outside. The shaping is by pleats at the front and elastic at the back. It looks great in a plain fabric as you see how the pleats fan out, but I, and most of the pattern insiders, have gone for a patterned fabric. . . My Fabric is viscose from @mollipolli_stoffe and I love border prints. I often get asked by Brits living in Spain where to buy fabric since Brexit has made deliveries from the UK more complicated and expensive. I made this @sewoveritlondon Jemima Dress for my twin sister for Christmas! 🎄🎁 The gorgeous fabric is a viscose from @fabricgodmother with beautiful sparkly gold thread in it that shimmers beautifully 🌟 I cut a size 13, raised the v neck point by an inch and shortened the shoulder straps by half an inch. #sewoverit #sewoveritlondon #soijemimadress #fabricgodmother
