❄️⭐ Christmas Velvet Sparkle Lana Skirt ⭐❄️ I wore my new sparkly @SewOverItLondon Lana Skirt to my Christmas work meal this afternoon. The weather has been a bit stormy in the peaks and pouring rain in Manchester so my outfit called for a woolly jumper to keep me warm! I wore my Vinted cream pearl detailed jumper and it kept me lovely and warm. I opted out of the block heels and popped on my trusty waterproof brown ankle boots. The skirt was super comfortable to wear (especially after a 2 course Christmas meal) and it still has some glitter left 😂 my floors and carpet are still covered in glitter even after a quick hoover this morning! I'm surprised there is any left on the skirt! I'm really happy with how the skirt turned up and would definitely recommend it to beginners! The construction is really easy and the only issues you may have are the fabric you choose. This velvet moved around as I was sewing, but the lovely people of Instagram have recommended a way to manage this (thanks). I found some time after work yesterday to sew up two more skirts. I cut them out the other night and the construction took me about 2 hours yesterday evening. The skirt is perfect for pairing with jumpers and is perfect to add a bit of sparkle to an outfit. ❄️🎄 Burgundy Lana Skirt 🎄❄️ After the success of my grey glitter Lana Skirt I treated myself to some more off cuts of sparkly velvet from Abakhan Manchester. This fabric is a gorgeous burgundy stretch velvet that has so much glitter! This fabric was lighter and had more stretch then the grey velvet but retains it's shape really well and is super comfortable to wear. I tried to pair this up with something different and went for my black light jersey roll neck and a sleeveless cream jumper. I really liked the overall look and will probably wear this over the festive period. I definitely need to get some more of the thin jersey roll necks in my wardrobe. If anyone knows a good place to buy some please let me know! I also made a blue/navy version of the Lana Skirt and look forward to sharing that soon! My house is absolutely covered in glitter! I have a Flexi day tomorrow and plan on sewing a Vintage Shirt Dress out of some lovely Christmas fabric or a velvet Portia Dress. ❄️⭐ Navy Sparkle Lana Skirt ⭐❄️ Today I wanted to share my final @SewOverItLondon Lana Skirt made in this gorgeous navy sparkle stretch velvet from @abakhan_manchester The fabric shows up quite bright and almost royal blue, but it's actually a lovely navy with a beautiful sparkle. Same as my other Lana Skirts it is super comfy and I find it really flattering to wear! I really enjoy wearing these skirts and pairing them up with items in my wardrobe. They are super easy to make and style and are perfect for the festive season. I wore this one last week when we went wandering around Chatsworth House. A perfect skirt for those times when you feel like sewing something fun and easy, or want a skirt in a particular colour to match an outfit. Suuuuuper quick make. This one is the mini version of the Sewalong Jersey Skirt (now known as the Lana Skirt), and was made with an interlock knit. I made the quickest item of clothing I’ve ever made last weekend. This is the #soilanaskirt it used to be called the sewalong jersey skirt that was available with a video tutorial that Lisa made over the lockdown. But we have released as it’s own stand alone pattern this week. So I thought I would test it out. I made the straight size 18 as it is made in a stretch fabric I prefer it to be a little tighter as it will give as I wear it and no one wants a baggy skirt falling down situation! Although I would say the fabric I bought from woolcrest is not as stretchy as I thought it would be so it is a little snug around the tummy area. But it does feel like a warm hug which will be nice in the autumn 🤗 I’ve tried to take a picture from the back so you can get an idea of how this looks. As I know clingy fabrics can be unforgiving but I think the higher waist line gives a nice shape and I feel really comfortable in it.

Back home tired but happy after an excellent #sewbeds day. Not been able to make it for several months and I’ve really missed it. Was lovely seeing my #sewingfriends and swapping pattern /fabric info,getting advice and planning sewing trips!!Added bonus of a grand tour of Bedfordshire due to terrible flooding of the Great Ouse. This is my latest make and hadn’t realised that it all went together more than I anticipated! It’s the @paper_theory #lbpullover and @sewoveritlondon #lanaskirt in a cable jersey from @poundfabrics . So warm and comfy and neither took long to sew. As the skirt was fitted I wanted a loose fit top and decided to cut the collar on the cross grain to add a bit of interest. I’m really pleased with how they both turned out and knowing me I’ll probably make more in all the colours 😉🤣 The #haberdasherybrooches is by @corriesfancygoods .
