Photos 2 and 3 show a really sweet ceramic fountain inside a little hotel. This house belonged to the grandparents of a friend of mine and she loved the little frogs as a child. . Unfortunately it's not so pretty with the bars around, but a hotel needs to think of safety. Many old houses like this have fountains.. In days before aircon, running water and plants made the inhabitants feel cooler. . . Day 18 was a great day spent with my dancing class, we even took our dancing out to the park. The tie-front trend is going no where! This is the new Sew Over It Maeve Blouse - it has 2 versions, a tie front and a button front. I made quite a few changes - the original version has a button shield on both versions, so if you're looking for a tie front blouse without showing skin, then this is for you! I chose to omit this and instead cut the facing out to mirror the otherside It's also got a super cool 1 piece cuff and sleeve which is a really interesting way of constructing. There are also instructions if you would rather have a simple elastic sleeve - I went for this version but actually like how it looked before I got to put in the elastic! . Maeve Blouse 🌸 (le français vient après l'anglais) 🇬🇧 @sewoveritlondon recently launched the delicate Maeve Blouse. It can be sewn with rouleau loops or little bows for closures, but I went even further and used button loops and buttons intended for bridal wear... I love the effect with this dotted Swiss! I cut a siez 8 and made shorter sleeves with elasticised bands at the elbow. I have been hankering after fresh white blouses this year and this is the second of three that I have been making (the first one was the Chelsea Blouse in white lace by Maison Fauve and you can check it out a bit further down on my feed). I just love how simple and elegant it looks! The neckline in this pattern is just so graceful. If you've been following me for a while, you know how much I love Sew Over It patterns, and it is such a joy to be pattern insider for them! I am sharing pictures with the blouse both tucked and untucked into my jeans... Which one do you prefer? 🇫🇷 La marque Sew Over It (dont je suis ambassadrice) vient de sortir ce patron de chemisier délicat qui se ferme soit avec des brides très fines, soit avec des nouettes comme on en voit partout en ce moment... J'ai été encore plus loin dans la finesse en insérant un galon de brides et des boutons prévus pour les robes de mariée. Je trouve que cela fonctionne bien avec ce plumetis blanc si frais (galon, boutons et plumetis ont été achetés chez @mercerie_rascol ). Ce oatron ne présente pas de difficulté particulière. J'ai fait des manches plus courtes avec un montage simplifié pour les bracelets de manche qui sont simplement élastiqués. En ce moment je rêve de chemisiers blancs texturés... Celui-ci est le deuxième d'une série de trois (je vous ai montré ma blouse Chelsea en dentelle blanche de Maison Fauve il y a peu). Sur Maeve, je trouve la ligne d'encolure particulièrement gracieuse. Vous verrez une série de photos avec le chemisier rentré dans mon jean, puis sorti... Hi everyone 🤗 - this is the second project I have completed as a Pattern Insider for @sewoveritlondon and it is the lovely Maeve Blouse 😍. I was very worried about the rouleau loops at first but in the end I really enjoyed sewing this pattern overall. Sew Over It instructions are always really clear and I cannot recommend them enough if you have not tried their patterns yet 😊! (I was buying their patterns before I became a Pattern Insider 🙃). I love the fabric I chose from @dreamfabricsuk which was so easy to sew! This also made the whole experience so enjoyable 😁. 📖 Story time - 10+ years ago when I was living in London fresh out of uni, homesick and needing a bit of calm, I looked up somewhere I could craft and found a shop where I could rent a sewing machine for an hour. It was the most relaxing time to switch off a bit and feel at home home crafting. The shop was of course @sewoveritlondon - I’ve been a fan ever since of their business in all its forms and was BEYOND thrilled to be accepted to their Pattern Insiders group! I’m really excited to share some of their new designs here and meet new sewists through their network ♥️ Here is my first SOI Pattern Insider make, the Maeve blouse. I like THE Ganni bow blouse everyone is making right now but hate hate hate wearing big sleeves... This blouse is the perfect nod to the trend with a set in sleeve and button/bow guard for a more modest look too if you prefer. I used a deep stash viscose challis and made my usual 2.5cm narrow shoulder adjustment and 1cm forward shoulder adjustment on size 12 graded to 16. I’m loving blouses at the moment and this one is a spring dream, perfect for the new sunny weather! Finally a sunny day to grab some pictures of the new pattern from Sew Over It which I was given as a #soipatterninsiders for a honest review. The Maeve blouse has 2 closure options, ties or buttons & rouleaux loops with full or 3/4 length sleeves. The sleeve is all one pattern piece, the clever design forms a cuff with a lovely gathered look. I didnt have a blouse to go with these trousers, think I do now. #soipatterninsiders POST 🚨 PATTERN: #soimaeveblouse the maeve top by @sewoveritlondon SIZING: My measurements are in my bio, I made the straight size 12, I downsized after looking at the finished garment sizes as I wanted a closer fit. AlTERATIONS: I knew I wouldn’t wear a blouse version of the maeve top, as I am self conscious of my hip area. So decided I wanted a semi peplum/tunic length version. I held the pattern pieces against myself and cut off at my waist (lengthen/shorten lines) I then gathered a short amount of fabric the width of the fabric and added this to the bottom. If I had more fabric I could have made it into a dress version. I used up all my fabric! I also brought the neckline up, I accounted for it whilst cutting out but brought it up even further later. I also couldn’t be bothered sewing up rouleau loops so bought some velvet ribbon, i wish it was stiffer, as they dont give the look I had in mind. FABRIC: Was a remanant I had in my stash, a viscous twill from Dewsbury market - approx £2 a metre it is super soft. CHANGES FOR NEXT TIME: Stiffer ribbon or loops and bring the neckline up further at the cutting stage. The pattern was gifted to me for free for being a pattern insider. Honest Opinion: it’s a lovely blouse the sleeves have a lovely gathered detailing (not easy to see in my version) - which is different to other similar patterns. The fit is lovely and the hidden placket is very clever! A easy sew overall. Sew over it patterns tend to be quite low cut on me so I need to ensure I take this into account at the cutting stage. My most recent Pattern Insider project the stunning #soimaeveblouse 🫶🏽 such a lovely make with some cool construction techniques, I ran out of time to test the cuffs but have a version planned soon! This blouse pair perfectly with the new #soixantheskirt to make a gorgeous complete outfit. For this version I chose a chambray fabric I have had in my stash for quite a while and I am so happy to see it sewn up. As soon as I got the email about this pattern I just had to buy it. It’s the new pattern from @sewoveritlondon the #soimaeveblouse I absolutely love it. Made it yesterday and it was such a lovely sew. First time making rouleau loops love the technique they use to make them. Also the cuff technique was completely new to me so unique 👌🙌 I made in a viscose challis from my stash that I got from @rainbowfabrickilburn a little while ago 😍😍 it’s screams spring/summer I love 👌 there is also a version with little rouleau loops with buttons that I want to try and make too!! Definitely be making a lot more of these for spring!!

Sew Over it Maeve Blouse & Closet Core Jude Today I am wearing two of my newest makes. This is the new @sewoveritlondon #soimaeveblouse that was released today. As a pattern insider I received this early and was so excited to make, except my dread of rouleau loops. I really enjoyed making the Maeve. Even with all of the details it came together rather quickly. The sleeve construction was really fun, the pieces look so wonky but they created the loveliest cuffs. The ties are constructed with piping, which adds stability. I struggled a bit turning my first one. But once I did a few I was a roll. I even added 2 more, but just because I marked my pattern wrong. I made a size 8 with no adjustments with a @minervadotcom viscose. I paired my new blouse with my #closetcorejude fresh off the machines. I made view A in size 8 and adjustments made from previous pairs. These were made in a dark indigo cone mills denim from @stylemakerfabrics. I used white top stitching for a contrast and left the hems raw that will hopefully fray more. Overall these are both winners for me! Jude is my go to jeans pattern and a new pair was needed. Here is the brand new pattern from Sew Over It, the Maeve Blouse! Made in a cream crepe fabric with rouleau loops for the button closures and hand sewn cuffs gives this pattern a real elegance. I paired Maeve with my favourite New Look 6459 trousers for a workday look. I made Maeve straight from the pattern in size 14 and the only adjustments I'll make in my next version is to lengthen the sleeves around 3 centimeters and lower the bust dart point a smigeon.
