When @sewoveritlondon launched the #soiwinonajumpsuit I fell in love with Alma’s version so decided to completely copy her and purchased the @ladymcelroyfabrics cotton lawn fabric. This is my 3rd Winona so I thought it would be a breeze and a good make to take to the @southernsewcial 😂😂😂 I think sewed the pockets on wrong 3 times followed by the waist ties wrong. Deep breath, it came home and we tried again. After all that I’m super pleased with my invisible zip and now have my own purple Winona.

Here’s my second #soiwinonajumpsuit from @sewoveritlondon I’ve used a really fine needlecord from @fabriclanduk I got brave and tried a concealed zip in the back. I’m rather chuffed with myself. I’ve lengthened the waist ties so they wrap back and front.

When it’s soo hot there is nothing cooler and comfier to wear than a jumpsuit in a floaty viscose fabric. When @sewoveritlondon released their latest pattern the #soiwinonajumpsuit I purchased it straight away, I do love a jumpsuit. I would normally add length to the bodice of a jumpsuit to account for my height (5ft 10) but there was no need to for this jumpsuit. I even had to take a little out, so beware of this if you are shorter than me. I opted for the elastic at the back v neck which is to allow you the movement to get the jumpsuit on and off. If you are wider in the hips than the bust, you might need to opt for the hook and eye option, which is included in the pattern. The waist ties are added at the side and can be tied to the front or the back, but you could also lengthen them so you can wrap them all the way around. This jumpsuit is definitely coming on my holidays with me, now just to work my way through the long list of other things I want to make before we go. Fabric is a viscose from @rainbowfabrickilburn

Sharing my Winona jumpsuit from @sewoveritlondon as a pattern insider 💕 What drew me to this jumpsuit was the cropped length of the pants, and the elastic band at the back was a clever little way to hold the shoulders together I felt. And of course those super roomy pockets! I made my Winona in a size 10. Fit adjustments included- half inch sway back - 5/8 inch bodice reduction - 5/8 inch shortening of the pants to accommodate my 5 ft 4 - lengthen the waist ties Even with the bodice reduction, The shoulder to crotch length was just comfy enough to put on and remove the jumpsuit easily. ✨ Holiday sewing ✨ Winona jumpsuit Well I went on quite the journey with this 🙈 I toiled with some linen (1st mistake - when my final fabric was going to be cotton- not sure what I was thinking there) my first attempt was fine up top but massive at the bottom the crotch and pockets were far too low. My second toile was better so I decided to shorten the crotch length - I think by 1.5 inches in the end. (It probably would have been fine in linen as it has more give than cotton) Anyhoo pockets positioned much better but I ended up with a jumpsuit with a bit (a lot actually) of hungry bum 😭 I was able to use the seam allowance to give myself more room in the bottom area which helped. I feel that it accentuates my CS mum tum. So I probably need to adjust the size again. My linen one in the same size is very loose in comparison. (See a previous reel I dyed that one green 💚) I bought this as a kit as the mint green gingham fabric called to me. But I don't think I will buy a kit again. I prefer a pdf pattern over a single print out, as any sizing issues- I could reprint the pattern myself and start again. I needed to adjust my size across multiple sizes and ended up finding this quite frustrating, having to re-draw the crotch depth to make a few smaller sizes. As I had previously cut out a larger size, as per size chart, which ended up being way too big. I used the hook and eye closure and lowered the point where it opens at the back as I have shapely hips and knew I'd need a bit more room to get in and out of the jumpsuit. I also made the ties longer (longer than this in fact) 2 days before we went away my dog chewed one of them 😅 so I had to make a new tie from scratch, thankfully I had enough scraps of fabric left as well as the time. I then realised they weren't the same length so I had to open the other side tie and shorten that one to match. What's that? Another #soiwinonajumpsuit on my machine? Well she is very comfy and after making my first over the weekend, I've decided to make another!!

It's dark, it's windy, it feels like rain, and my eyes are puffed up thanks to allergies, but I have a new jumpsuit! I almost sewed it in a light cotton, but at the last minute decided I wanted something more fluid, so rayon it was. I have a love-hate relationship with rayon, but I will say that spray starch - or an alternative like the Mary Ellen's Best Press that I like - makes it easier to sew. I spritz the whole length of fabric one section at a time as I press it before cutting, and it ends up just a little more stable and a little less prone to shifting. The pattern - Winona by @sewoveritlondon - was just released last week, and it's two of the things I love best: cute and comfortable. It's loose without being oversized, with patch pockets and optional ties to create some shape at the waist. I sewed a size 18 blended to a 20 at the waist/hip, taking 4 cm off the bodice at the lengthen/shorten line and another 4 cm below the knee. I also raised the waist ties to just below the bust dart, and finished the neckline and armscyes with red cotton bias tape. Of course I forgot to take photos of the back - the ties are both wide and long enough to look nice in a bow, and there's two options for the bodice closure. I chose the button-and-loop and used elastic thread and a red button. Hmm, I bet this would also be nice in a linen-rayon blend. Version two, maybe? I was a bit slow and missed making the @sewoveritlondon #soiwinonajumpsuit during the warmer months so decided to give the jumper and boots look a try. The pattern came together well and the pockets are fab. It’s a bit of a wiggle so my next one (in corduroy, already cut) I will add a zip to the back seam …. Wish me luck 🤞🏻 I’m also going to lengthen the waist ties so I can wrap all the way around back. Fabric is cotton poplin from @sewhayleyjane as was the @little.rosy.cheeks label.

It was a confusing weather day today, such strong wind but still warm. So my new make @sewoverit #soiwinonajumpsuit made from cotton poplin from my stash was the perfect outfit to wear for my walk by the river with my family, this is my mum in the photo. It’s a summer of jumpsuits for me this year! @sewoveritlondon really are bringing out some great patterns and even better kits to go with them. The colour of this chambray is gorgeous 💙. I even used the wave stitch on my machine on the pockets and added some fun labels 🏖️. This would be straight in the suitcase if I actually went on holiday 🤣. I lengthened both the torso and leg length plus I lengthened the ties to wrap all the way around. I would size up on the top next time as it’s a bit too snug and I definitely wouldn’t get a t-shirt underneath 😊. The Winona jumpsuit by @sewoveritlondon is probably now my favourite woven jumpsuit I’m in love. #soiwinonajumpsuit I made in a viscose lawn from @beckys_sewing_studio . I made a straight size 12 but added 4 inches to length because I wanted it full length. It still wasn’t quite long enough so I cut out to cuffs and top stitch them to make it look like a deep hem. It’s now the perfect length. I opted for the elastic back which allows you to easily get the jumpsuit on and off. I love that you can tie the waist ties at the back or the front and the large pockets are perfect so roomy. I have spoken about this make in more detail on my new vlog on YouTube.

💙 From Swap Fabric to Winona Jumpsuit 💙 Anyone who knows me will know that I’m a sucker for both bright blue and florals, so I couldn’t resist this viscose when I saw it at the London Destash Swap I hosted with Sarah @oliveroadlondon in January 😍 I kept this fabric in my stash until the summer, and thankfully the perfect pattern had been released by then too. I made the Winona Jumpsuit by @sewoveritlondon. As I only had 2m, I shortened the legs to create a playsuit and I think it turned out so cute! I made the size 14 with no adjustments, except adding a short zip to the centre back to reduce the wiggling required to get it on and off. Only the best for Winona! As soon as I’d finished and fallen in love with my linen version of the Sew Over It London Winona jumpsuit I knew I could take it to another level using some very special fabric. The release of the pattern coincided with a callout to Minerva Makers and a feast of exclusively designed silks and I was like a kid in a sweet shop! I’m not usually drawn to prints but Darting Doves on 100% silk satin completely charmed the pants off me! These shots were taken in and around Piccadilly with window shopping at its finest. A wonderfully warm evening with a cool breeze made the silk ripple against my skin and it felt glorious! The lustre of the fabric is so special and instantly elevates a simple garment. I left off the patch pockets and decided against in seam ones to allow the fabric to literally shine and hold its line. Only one unfortunate instance of a decapitated dove on the reverse — this fabric is far too special to waste with excessive meterage required for any kind of pattern placing or matching. The winged background of the design is distracting enough though and my hair makes for an excellent crime cover up when it’s worn down in any case! The only other thing I did differently this time was to sew the elasticated ruffle closure to the back opening in place of the hook and eye. I much prefer this method! Winona Jumpsuit - details & adjustments 🌸⁣ ⁣ 🇫🇷 Après la présentation en mouvement, voici ma combi Winona en photos (les photos à l'hortensia ont été prises par ma fille 💙 les autres avec une télécommande).⁣ ⁣ Ce patron de @sewoveritlondon vient de sortir, j'ai pu le coudre en avant-première en tant qu'ambassadrice de la marque (rémunération : le patron PDF). J'ai vraiment aimé coudre ce patron très fun, et c'est un délice à porter ! J'ai cousu la taille 8.⁣ ⁣ La viscose est une très belle découverte achetée chez @mapetitemercerie. Il s'agit de leur popeline de viscose coloris Vert Paon (plutôt un émeraude à mon sens même si mon téléphone veut absolument la rendre bleue !). Elle est opaque et merveilleusement douce. ⁣ ⁣ Modifications : ⁣ - Comme j'ai utilisé du biais du commerce au lieu de le couper dans le tissu, je n'ai eu besoin que de 2 mètres de tissu même en gardant la pleine longueur du patron ⁣ - J'ai allongé les liens de 25 cm chacun pour pouvoir les envelopper totalement autour de la taille⁣ - Étant très petite, j'ai enlevé 1,5 cm de hauteur aux épaules devant et 1 cm aux épaules dos (ajustement classique chez moi)⁣ - J'ai ajouté une fermeture invisible au dos, ce qui l'a aussi resserré (le dos est normalement plus ouvert), car les patrons ont tendance à être larges pour moi dans le dos⁣ - J'ai gardé la longueur des jambes, ce qui a donné un pantalon long sur mon 1m54 là où le patron prévoit une longueur à mi-mollet⁣ ⁣ Je recommande chaudement ce patron, dont le livret d'explications est limpide 💙⁣ ⁣ 🇬🇧 After showing you my Winona jumpsuit in motion in a reel, here are some pictures and details on my minor adjustments.⁣ ⁣ Winona or #SOIWinonaJumpsuit is the newest pattern by @sewoveritlondon – I was able to make it ahead of the launch as a Pattern Insider (PDF pattern received free of charge with no additional compensation).⁣ ⁣ Photos with the hydrangea were taken by my daughter – the other ones with a tripod and remote.⁣ ⁣ I cut a size 8 in a beautiful viscose poplin from @mapetitemercerie .⁣ ⁣ My mods are in a pinned comment 🌼

Another gorgeous @sewoveritlondon Winona #soiwinonajumpsuit gorgeous chambray from @poundfabrics I had this fabric in my stash and I was going to make a dungarees. But I couldn’t stop thinking about the Winona!! So I used the new feature on @stash_hub and made a magic mock up. It looked amazing so I made it straight away. Magic mock up is such a game changer I’m loving it. I made the size 12 and extended leg length like I did last time. I absolutely love it and this will not be my last I already have my next fabric lined up for another Winona 😍👌

Life has been quite a challenge these past few months, but I’m thrilled to finally complete my Winona Jumpsuit! Once again, the @sewoveritlondon (SOI) team has truly nailed it with a design that has become a staple in my wardrobe. Living in Far North Queensland, where the weather is typically hot and humid, I decided to modify the pants to better suit my lifestyle, which revolves around relaxation, sports, and boating activities. That’s why jumpsuits are a favorite of mine! I made this in a size 10 and absolutely adore the relaxed fit. I used a cotton blend fabric from Spotlight Australia for my test version. Initially, I wasn’t a fan of the fabric, but it turned out to be perfect for this project, and I ended up loving it! I’ll share some pictures soon! If you haven’t yet sewn a Winona, I highly recommend it; it’s so versatile for layering or wearing on its own. I’d love to hear your thoughts on my version! Ah, summer jumpsuits. Soooooo comfy and easy to wear. Here is the Winona Jumpsuit, the latest pattern from Sew Over It and it launched in perfect time for my holiday sewing prep. I made a size 14 (I'm 5'8"/175cm) and added 2cm to the torso (though didn't need to in the end as there's plenty of room) and 18cm to the leg length. I also lowered the front v neckline around 3 cm. I made it in a soft, very drapey viscose. I used the elasticated closure option at the back and bound the armholes and neckline in a contrast binding. I wear it tied to the back in these photos but it looks really good tied to the front or all the way round too. I'm one of Sew Over It's pattern insiders and I jumped* at the chance to make this!
